The Tom Fitzgerald Era of Devils hockey is over. After 11 years in the organization and 6 as general manager, Fitz parts ways with the team after a rocky tenure with the team. But with a handful of games left in the season and other teams also in search of front office candidates, the Devils need to get searching for a successor immediately.
On the show we welcome back The Puddy Daddy, Greg Wyshynski, to help navigate where the team’s direction is headed. Everyone has talked about the names Sunny Mehta, Brendan Shanahan, and John Chayka as his replacements, but maybe there are others not being discussed…

Hischier is listed at 6’ 200 lbs. and he doesn’t play like an undersized center. And frankly, they missed the playoffs by 10 point. How about we see them get enough skill and talent to consistently make the playoffs before we worry about them not being tough enough to win in the playoffs.
Less talked about is how badly their defense underperformed. Pesce is the only player who performed as expected and he missed half the season. That and goaltending were the main reasons they are eliminated from the playoffs. That is where they need to focus their efforts on this summer. I’d love Knies but they need at least one more top4 d, 2 if they trade Hamilton. + a starting goaltender.

Yes, The Fitzgerald ERROR in NJ was a total abject failure.
Brace yourself for a rough start to the season and don't over react. Tampa and Buffalo looked like dogshit early this year and figured it out. This will be the year of patience
