This panel hasn't been involved in many, if any, decisions within an organization. This panel doesn't understand that the details of the deal were already worked out and that Boman was simply forming a consensus among the group because that's how things are done in any business setting.
It's been years now and you guys still don't understand that you can play clips in a news show like this when reporting on things.
One of the guys in the clip was Michael Parkatti, who is the Senior Director of Data and Analytics. I am assuming there is a data package of the players the Oilers are interested in that each of the people in that room has access to. You don't need to discuss the numbers on the paper. They are what they are. What you need to discuss are the intangibles. I am not sure why anyone would sit around and talk about analytics, unless you are going to be challenging what the number is.
Anyone else hear the inflectionon on the word, "money"? đ
If this is at all representative of how front offices work, then wow literally ANYONE can do that job.

Eff me….this reinforces my opinion of how useless Bowman is. Go watch the video on Holland getting Ekholm. The latter shows a man making a deal, this one shows a guy scratching his nuts and needing people to approve his thought process. This underscores why Bowman has screwed this team. Remember, Bowman said that "he had his eye on Jarry for a long time." This is the same GM who let Holloway walk. And that was not a cap issue. This is the same GM who gives out NMC's on contracts like candy. And the same GM who gave Walman $7M x 7 yrs….like WTF. Jeff Jackson and Bowman need to get the hell out of here. Morons.
Bowman and Jackson should just leave town. This team is winning nothing. If the Pacific wasn't such a pillow fight this team would not make the playoffs.
On one hand, I think you guys are over-thinking the crap out of this / blowing it way out of proportion… on the other hand, all the horrendous moves of the Oilers in recent memory speak for themselves. So, maybe you're onto something.

Dickenson has been a good fit, and the Oilers are now challenging for first in the division since the deal.
This feels more like you're clickbaiting and scrabbling for content, rather than anything meaningful.

I dont understand why this is a topic of discussion.. Of course they talk like that, thwy are important pieces of what hockey players bring ro the team.
The best GM in the league hands down is Bill Zito. That man has single handedly turned a perineal failure into a world class force to be reckoned with from 2022-2025. The oilers biggest issue is that Mcdavid and Drasatli are taking up most of the cap and can't afford to get a solid d line to prevent touchdowns
As an Oilers fan, I think Jesse is completely wrong here. The issue with the oilers the past couple of years is when we trade for / sign guys all they want to do is play with 97 and 29 and if they donât then they canât produce in the bottom 6. Skinner, Arvidsson, Mangipane, all were brought in to either play top 6 or provide depth scoring. None were able to stick in the top 6 and none were able to provide depth scoring. So they soeicifcally brought Dickinson in so they had a 3rd line centre that created the defence first line. Look at the GAA for the oilers before and after getting Dickinson, heâs been exactly what the team needs and is the reason they are 6-1-1 in their last 8

I have had plenty of conversations with our management team at work about our personnel. This convo reminds me of kind of the wrap up you have with the discussion team, sort of reassuring yourself of the decision.
I'm confused on what your problem is? Dickinson is a low point high defensive player, the oilers have plenty of point getters, they want someone who revels in the idea of shutting other teams down, that's what was talked about and that's what he does. Dach has brought so much energy with him and has actually sparked something in fredrick, again, they knew what they were talking about with these players and it's played out exactly what like that?
Itâs like none of these people have seen MoneyballâŠ.ffsâŠ.
They get a shutdown center, physical young winger (under team control), and free up 3.6 million next year. I have absolutely no problem with this deal.
