  1. Can’t believe we’re at this stage💔 What a pleasure it’s been to watch him play

  2. I hope Ovi can stay for one more season, so he can beat Gretzky’s goal record including post season. It’s gonna be a different league without him, that’s for sure.

  6. He needs to play his final season, with everyone KNOWING its his final. Deserves send off from entire league and 31 teams.

  7. I cried like a baby when flower retired, and I'll cry like a baby if Ovi decide to retired too

Still, will support his decision no matter what. Just very thankful and grateful to be able to witness him playing ❤

  8. One more year ovi!! One more year please!! Keep scoring big guy! 👏🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽

  9. I have never seen a home game living in Saskatchewan. Me and my wife finally made the decision to travel to Washington! Please man one more year!! 🤞🏽🤘🏽

  10. NHL would not be the same without Ovi. Hopefully he could prolong his stay here, taking one season at a time. Still scoring 30+ goals and hatrick in games at 40, he still has that dog in him.

  11. As a hockey fan it's been an absolute pleasure to see this man go from the cocky Russian kid who can't grow a mustache to the greybeard best goal scorer of all time. Even as a Rangers fan, it's been such a ride being able to witness Ovis career.

  12. Been a great career. He is going to retire. Doesn't want all the stupid handshake lines and the fanfare so he has kept it close hold like Gretzky. But he knows.

  13. 1000 goals let's go!! 30+ goals at 40 and showing no signs of slowing down. you have to go for 1000 goals Alex!!

  16. 2 more seasons and retirement at 1000 goals mark would be legendary. Same goes with Christiano Ronaldo.

  17. I blame the caps organization for showing they don’t care about their vets and they did Carlson dirty! When Ovi saw that he said Nah if I leave it’s on my terms not theirs! 👏😢

  18. I am just one persons opinion. To me OV doesn't look like he wants to retire. If he does retire, then he kept a poker face hard to read. From Ted ego stance, he would want to have the last home game of the season to have a huge presentation of OV retiring. I don't foresee that being kept a secret in the last home game of this season against the Pens.

  19. Who cares? No one. People who really know the stats will say that all those power play goals stem from the fact that the NHL changed the rules in 2005, favoring players like Alex Ovechkin. What Ovechkin has done in the playoffs is a clear reminder that he is not the greatest goal scorer in NHL history, that title belongs to Wayne Gretzky. If it was so easy in the playoffs, Ovechkin would have 10 Stanley Cups, he has but one. His team was outstanding for years and years, and yet only one Cup. It is primarily his fault because he was unable to deliver playoff performances like Wayne Gretzky when the Capitals needed him most. One Cup is nothing for how good the Capitals were in the regular season. It's a team game, but Ovechkin was their main star back then, like today too. Gretzky almost never wavered. Whether it was the Canadiens (yeah the weak Habs, too) that beat the Capitals or the powerhouse Penguins that did it more than once (and without home ice advantage), it mattered not. Many opposing teams had Ovechkin's number in the playoffs.
