  1. Isles need 7 out of the remaining 8 points to even have a real chance , No room for error, Boys need to play 4 Game 7s now.

  2. You can’t lose 4 in a row when you’re in a playoff race. Other than Toronto, which isn’t even a given, the Islanders probably won’t win another game this season.

  3. Unfortunately Islanders fans Pete I haven’t won anything Deboer will only get Worse! Darche should have hired their Mommies instead! 😩 Coach told me to step up my game 😩 Cry babies the lot of them

  4. They need all 4 wins and that’s not a guarantee they’ll get in if they get to the playoffs they will lose in the 1st round hopefully they don’t get in for a better draft pick 💙LGI 🧡

  5. Its so hard not to feel like the time I spent watching the team this year was a waste. Just…. Sighh….. I hate everything right now. Ughhhhhhhhhh

  6. We‘re cooked and done. Reality has finally caught up. Would‘ve loved to see Schaef in Playoff mode but alas that has to wait.

  7. This year was supossed to be a retool year. I am ok with them missing the playoffs. Even when they were playing better the most they could do was win the first round. Right now they would be almost guaranteed of losing in the first round. It is a shames they made that Scheen ttade in an effort to make the playoffs.

  8. I wanted Scheafer to get postseason experience, if nothing else, because now it's too late to tank into another possible miracle lottery. Only Roy getting canned has brought any happiness lately, Darche must be furious, going from a new great GM to this fall from grace, making half-ass trades for a team that looked like it was going to hit 100 points until the last ten games. The first three games and the last seven have been awful. The 70 in between? not so bad but points eft on the table against bad teams and losing crushers like Ottawa, missing even a loser point because they allowed Tkchuck to will his way to a dirty goal with 11 seconds left. Jesus wept!

  9. You lose to teams that you are competing with in the standings (Ottawa, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia) you get what you deserve. They miss the playoffs and fans would be calling for Roy's head anyway. Roy preached joy all season. Doesn't seem like much joy when you choke at the end. So bye bye

  10. Before the season started if you looked at this roster…objectively…the logical conclusion was…misses the playoffs, not good enough. Then the Islanders go out and bust their asses and largely off of Ilya Sorokin's back get carried into a playoff spot with a month left in the season. Unfortunately Sorokin wore down and the team regressed to a level of hockey that is equal to their Actual ability level. So with very few games left, they are on the outside looking in, since that was their realistic position when the season began, I fail to see the reason for all the sadness. The Islanders had a great season, Matthew Schaefer was an absolute joy to watch, next season we may get to have fun watching Victor Eklund turn into an NHL hockey player and with any luck our rookie gm will learn something from this seasons many mistakes and actually make moves to improve this hockey team. There is for the first time in decades, reason for optimism, but it will take time and this fanbase will just have to learn patience.😊

  11. You can't make it to the playoffs hoping the other teams in the hunt suck worse than you do. It doesn't work that way.

  12. A last second regulation road loss vs OTT
A flat regulation home loss vs PHA
A thorough home pasting by PITT, a team they were challenging for second in the Metro
    Above says it ALL

  13. Basically the team overachieved off Sorokins back and Schaefers enthusiasm and play. You can see that he pushed the older players, some played better than they had but it also exposed the 3 major problems on the team, the defense, wings that aren’t scoring and no “cop” to protect and persuade other teams to not cheap shot Schaefer. IMO that’s why Darshe brought Schenn in and I’m ok with that but Darshe also failed big time by not making a move sooner to protect Schaefer, by trading for Palat and Soucy, bad moves and you can toss in Boquist with those bad moves. Woudve loved to see team in the playoffs but that ship sailed and so did Roy which may not have been the best move in getting rid of him. DeBoer doesn’t have the best track record nor does he have the best rep in coaching, the move was rt out of Lou’s playbook. Is Darshe the real GM or is it Lou ? Based on the trades I’m going with Lou pulling the strings and it was a big failure !
