The Fastest Woodchopping on Earth. | STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® Individual World Championship’25 Highlights

The STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® Individual World Championship 2025 brought the 12 best woodchopping athletes in the world to the Allianz Cloud in Milan – and delivered one of the most competitive, youngest fields we’ve ever seen.

This isn’t a simple “fastest wins” format. It’s a three-round points battle where every discipline matters – and one mistake can erase an athlete’s entire day.

Round 1: All 12 athletes compete in Underhand Chop, Stock Saw and Standing Block Chop. Times convert into points – from 12 down to 1 per discipline. Any rule infraction means a disqualification and zero points for that discipline. After three events, the lowest totals are eliminated – only eight advance.

Round 2: Single Buck and Springboard raise the stakes with bigger point gaps. Records fall, rankings shift, and the pressure turns brutal.

Round 3: Hot Saw decides everything. Three cookies inside 15 cm – jump the start or cut the line and it’s a DQ. In 2025, the final round delivered heartbreak, reviews, and clutch cuts when it mattered most.

From national records to razor-thin margins and a podium fight that stayed wide open until the very last run – this is professional woodchopping at its highest level.
