The Maple Leafs are still third all time in Stanley Cup Victories… which were all won prior to the league having more than 14 teams. Montreal has the most; 13 more than Toronto. and won more than half of their total after 1967… And they haven’t won in 33 seasons. In fact, the Maple Leafs Cup drought is LONGER than the Ottawa Senators- who went on hiatus from 1938 to 1994, meaning the eligible seasons Ottawa has played since their last win in 1925 is 45. (This year: 2025-26, is the 52nd season of Ottawa Senators hockey- they have 4 Stanley Cups) Even better- the Senators have been to the finals more recently than the Maple Leafs (2007).
Born in Montreal now live in Ottawa. Hated the leafs with a passion but started to cheer for them in the last 5 years or so. Loved the way they played. All speed and talent. Then they traded Marner…. My favourite player in the league. So back to being indifference (not hating at least)
