I've been a fan since Oct 1970. I want out of Vancouver as well!!!!
Lol so a player is a bad captain if they don't ride the sh*try sinking ship all the way down to the sea floor, AND they have to be singing the ship praises as she sinks. EVERY CANADIAN BETTER KEEP THIS SAME ENERGY when MCDAVID QUITS on Edmonton to leave and win a Cup!!
Good lord get the f over it.
At the end of the day, whatever his reasons, successful teams aren’t built around players that don’t want to be there. I’m not a fan of how he quit on the team though, and I hope he gets relentlessly booed every time he touches the puck when he plays in Vancouver.
Hughes left for the same reason Tocchet left, same reason Miller took a leave of absence and wanted out. They don't want their careers weighed down by someone that gave up on hockey the moment he signed his 8 year deal.
This team is a dumpster fire. Hughes did more on the ice than anyone else. Now the plan is to rewrite history and call him a quitter when he was still the most consistent player on the team right up to his trade to Minny. Honestly I am disappointed with the Canucks team and fans. I wish they could all be traded instead.
I personally do understand them. Even in MTL the hockey culture. Look I get it. Fan loves hockey yiddy yaddah. But man. The effing media along with the fans needs to shut up real quick or else we'll never have good players no more. And I'm a Habs fan BTW.
Guy couldn't control the locker room, was not the captain we needed. Good player but clearly selfish. How can he say he didn't really know the players on the team anymore after he had captained and played with over 16 of the players on the roster? Self centered person not cut out for captain, I doubt he captains anywhere else.
Not to mention the maga hat wearing part of his life too, definitely don't need that nonsense here.
Ha ha ha ha, Vancouver really had no talent after the good year where the team moon walked backward. And played way above the talent level where Demko and Quin were really good Miller was leading the team and Zadorov , Cole were difference makers. They kept making terrible moves. Buffalo had talent. Blue chippers. Hilarious that people actually think Vancouver was that good. We were not going to win anything any time soon. I just wish we got a little more for Quin. He would always be a loser on a loser team. I am a fan of the Canucks but you can't say we only needed a couple player to get back in. Every player has a expiration date and Quin could see it on the Canucks. If they even tried to get good players to play with Petey and build a team that had a chance he would have stayed. They belly flopped every chance they could. And this rebuild is going to take at least 5-7 years. And still not guaranteed to be a good team. You would have to be delusional to think we had the same kind of players as Buffalo. Or even close.
Clearly our management needs to go
Yes hughes was here 8 years. But the first opportunity out, and he took it. He had zero loyalty to us. Nhl players are pretty much locked to the team that drafted them for tge first 7 years. Dont act like he 'gave us 8 years'
The Canucks Organization top to bottom a freaking joke. They will never win a cup as long as Aqullini is running this ship.
Plain and simple, Mr. Quinn Hughes was a simple quitter. Sounds like my ex-girlfriend..
Wild fan here. I have no idea what he was like over there. But maybe, he just got tired of being the captain and just wanted to play good hockey. Because over here, he isn't the captain. And I can not see him being a captain here. Our captain was born for the role. Here he blends in. Here we have so many weapons that he just becomes one more. And maybe he was also looking for others that could challenge him, and he challenge them in turn. That is my thoughts anyways.
Its kinda like the real job world. You try to kick butt at work and nothing comes of it and you start to "quietly quit." No real future at work so you kinda pack it in to do just enough not to get fired because the money is too good but just not happy at where you are at. Admit it, everyone has been there.
yea we know why, its obv; cuz they suck – nobody wants to be stuck on a sucky team forever
All good players want to play on an American team, McDavid will go south too… Just wait…
How could anyone blame Quinn Hughes for his desire to exit Vancouver Canucks, when we all know The Canucks is a dumpster fire?
