Borg was my favorite player as a kid because he was different from all the other players with his ice demeanor and style of play. He has lost his sheen for me when I realised his style would spawn Djoker and Nadal who would then be copied by the current generation who are all baseliners with doublehanded backhands. Now everyone looks and plays the same. Not Borg's fault – the ITF and TV network execs have created a game for baseliners who scramble around like jackrabbits reaching all the balls that used to be winners because the courts and balls are that much slower. They thought fans wanted longer rallies..be careful what you wish for.
Bjorn Borg won 3 channel slams going from the slowest surface to the fastest surface and did it within a 2 weeks span. Nobody will ever repeat that ! Borg was one of the best athletes of all time.
Connors completely dictating the point. Making Borg move until Connors got Borg to give up a weak ball. Connors didn't want to get into 30-stroke rallies against Borg. Who would?
Borg was famous for his incredibly low resting heart rate (RHR), often cited around 35 beats per minute though some claim it was even lower, possibly 29 bpm, much lower than the average adult's 60-100 bpm.

저당시 저런 우드라켓으로도 엄청난공을 쳤구나ᆢ😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Looks easy enough , so why can't today's players do it ??
Bjorn wasn't IceBorg in 1982
Wish I had that forehand

I’m always amazed with Borg’s footwork and speed of his first step to the ball.
BORG aveva i racchettino di legno e CONNORS quello di alluminio. Ciao bacio
Borg invented "Nadal's" forehand.

Ce bon vieux Jumbo, ce bon vieux ice borg 😊

Il buon tennis di una volta
If this was in San Francisco, I was there.
Nobody won more indoor titles than Jimbo!
Comparati con i ritmi di giuoco di oggi sembrano degli elefanti da circo!…
Jimmy was very talented at the net and always ready to move forward…elegant power.
This is awesome. Great video here!
👌
Outstanding example of how to play Borg, by Jimmy Connors.
So glad tennis is evolved so much since then.
As Borg said, no matter his best, if Connors is playing HIS best, Borg at his best will lose to Connors at his best. Respect.

you can tell how heavy borg's racket is haha, what's the weight on that thing?
Would love to see today’s players playing with these racquets
Borg won that match, as he usually did against Connors
