first hire president of hockey operations?
could use separate president of hockey operations and GM; president of hockey operations focus on winning Stanley Cup long term, GM focus on retool / rebuild medium term?
president of hockey operations hire GM?
Fire Berube and allow new GM to pick the new coach
Pelley = Another data driven idiot that thinks you build a winner with stat sheets. Hiring a firm to tell you who to hire??? Another total waste of time and funds. Hey Pelley if you can't figure out who to hire without hiring a firm you should resign.
One consistent factor coming to the Leafs. Players, coaches, GM’s Presidents all flame out once they arrive in Leafland. The list is long.
What is the purpose of an insider? Because they all say exactly the same stuff. Mostly very obvious stuff. Very very obvious.
they are gonna throw 200 names at ChatGPT and ChatGPT will pick the next GM, perfect…….
IMO, the fact Pelley of MLSE is hiring a "firm" to deal with the hiring process clearly shows why the Leafs never learn from their prior mistakes. You have a billion$ corporation in MLSE that owns not only the Leafs, but the Raptors (basketball), the BlueJays (baseball), Toronto FC (soccer), etc etc all run like a business first, individual sport second….and listening to Pelley's press conference mispronouncing the Canadiens Michael Hage but obviously knowing who he is shows a non hockey individual (Pelley), and publicly stating "we" didn't see the train? that is the Buffalo Sabres and Montreal Canadiens…shows he is directly involved with the operations of the Leafs yet he is left to be In charge of revamping a broken Leafs structure & culture? Good luck Leaf fans! This is not a shot at Leaf fans, more like full compassion&empathy for the plight you are in, because I prefer a competitive Leafs team…I want to see rivalry, I love Leafs vs Habs…so I hope for the best but I'm just not seeing a good outcome any time soon.
