Go to exactly 30.00 seconds in the video and start single-stepping through using the ">" key. At first there is body on body contact, which leads to head contact with Viel's shoulder. I have no issue with that. But keep single-stepping. Viel then brings his right hand up to Dach's face and follows through with a stick butt to the head. Look at each frame and tell me that Dach's head whipping back isn't the result of Viel's high right hand.
I was watching a video of some old NHLers talking about how they always knew where big hitters were on the ice and lamented that players of this era are a bit shortsighted when it comes to on-ice awareness.
I can’t imagine a player reaching back with their hand like that in the 90s NHL in the offensive zone. How much responsibility does Dach have for understanding his surroundings before trying to make a play that is, at best, less than 50% likely to be successful?
hes a 40-50 point guy without injuries but hes made of glass and honestly doesnt belong in the show he doesnt know how to protect himself, not even aware of his surroundings. he better call it quits before he gets a career ending injury, the show isnt for everyone especially when youre made of glass
Bro plays like hes in beer league, he never expect contact and when he does get hit, he usually flails around because hes unable to absorb contact. Talented player but sadly he cant handle a full 82 games season
He looks good on paper…6"4 220 pounds centre…wow…but it is not there! The best he ever was…was 4 years ago in his 1st year in MTL with 38 points… …by far, his best in 7 NHL season at this point… …he has accumulated another 38 points in the last 3 seasons combined! Things are not going to change…he is very fragile…a defensive liability (-29 last year and career -151) …and even healthy, doesnt show the offensive CONSISTANCY and physicality needed to live up to his hype!

The only thing wrong with this is Dach being made of tissue paper and hope.
Unfortunate result that is right in line with the rest of his career so far…
Clean hit, bad result. Unfortunate for our dacher

I don’t see a problem with the hit. Too bad for us Habs fans, he’s got skill. I hope he’s back soon.

Apparently he broke his foot slamming his right leg on the ice when he fell. Not confirmed AFAIK but that's what I read.
Broken arm.
Clean hit no doubt
Blind sided with intent to injure, and choke to fight with Xhekaj or Anderson
Viel has an history in the AHL
the only thing i didint like is he refused to fight the whole game. at least he didint bait a penalty afterwards
you can call it blindside though…. If you did that to one of there good players, the would nto be happy about it

Ups is hiring soft care handlers for their packages. Cannot be tuff or rough. Is Dach available?
What's the point of this? Who gives a shit.
Dach has zero survival instincts and never learns
Never seen a player so unaware of his surroundings
I'd take Romanov back in a heartbeat
Dach is made of glass, should realize whats best for himself and retire. His frail body has no business in a sport like hockey!
