We do not regret drafting Reinbacher, mitchkov was already decided for Philly.
Don't forget the signed 8-year contracts.
"regretting reinbacher"? ……you frickin nuts or something?
How good will demidov be
Reinbacher will be on habs’s top pairing with Hutson . He got side tracked due to injuries and is currently doing very well in Laval with a +18 différential .
Mitchkov is a brat and a kicked room cancer , habs new this and is part of the reason they wouldn’t touch him .
youngest roster in hockey not 2nd.
GO HABS GO
I enjoyed this.
So the Monahan move got them a chunk of Noah Dobson and Michael Hage? Wild. Hage is going to shock people next year and is one of the final pieces in this rebuild. Massive credit to the scouting team too. The best in the game right now.
Habs don't regret skipping michkov. Talent aside the guy is a locker room cancer and would be dragging the energy of the whole team down
There is one guy that's propulsing this team since last year and his name is Lane Hutson.
“No 2nd Line Centre” is such an insult to Kapanen. He’s so good
Yeahhhhh nos glorieux !! The canadiens are the greatest Canadian hockey team. Dont worry tho, you guys have the greatest baseball AND basketball Canadian teams. Jokes aside, we had a shitty management between 1994 and 2020. We suffered and i cant imagine what Its like to have 50 years of poor management. You guys deserve the best and I wish you too feel what we feel right now. Go habs go!! ⚜️🇨🇦⚜️
The only problem the habs have right now is that you need an age spread for contracts and rookie progression.
40 years without a 100 points scorer. We are not spoiled.
And some fans called Marty to be fired
Michkov would not have fit with the rest of the dressing room. Glad they didn't draft him.
First thing first bud… The Habs have not been that good in over two decades. The whole price era was a below average roster with a generational goalie that kept them in playoff contention when the defense would step up. We haven't had that type of offense in my lifetime and I am 32.
Canadians fans have seen this team underperform for a looong time and then Kent Hughes and Martin St-Louis happened.
Taking Reinbacher over Michkov is NOT a move that they regret.
The Reinbacher story is not over guys…as a fan who's been watching this sport since the late 70's, I believe he will become a very good NHL defenseman. One item you mentioned, but missed was the ownership. Unlike in Toronto, the Habs owner has learned that he needs to keep his nose OUT of the hockey business. He can be present, he can sit at the table at the draft, but he doesn't try to run the team. Hire the best possible people and then shut up and let them do their jobs.
Lastly, you guys have a nice, enjoyable group to listen to. Do something about that table please. It's like trying to have a discussion on a drum set. Every time someone touches the table we can hear it and it's distracting and annoying. Great job otherwise, keep it up!
4:30 there is no basis for the claim that they regret not picking Michkov. Culture matters, not just pure talent. This is why the Leafs Core4 never amounted to anything in the playoffs and nobody understands why.
The biggest things the Habs have had going for them is the owner management scouting development and coach
Have all been on the same page and work8ng in concert.
Coaching has a lot to do with the development of the players. Therrien was useless. Strangled and hobbled PK when he was here.
MSL, coaches the players through mistakes instead of berating / benching them.
I think most contracts already look good right now
Player development is a hidden ingredient in the secret sauce. Slaf could have become a bust like KK, if left on his own, like players of the past.
All starts in front office. Bringing in an Anglo (Gorton)
amid the language issue of the sensitive political turmoil while convincing everyone he’s not the GM and then Gorton hires a zero experience GM who is bilingual (Hughes)
Imagine Gorton who at the time was mentoring Hughes realizing that they had to blow up the foundation and rebuild all the while under criticism for hiring 2 totally inexperienced upper management in Hughes and St Louis
btw the choice of Juraj was easy, Wrights ego and his last yr of play in Kingston was his doing. Don’t forget 3 teams passed on the forecasted #1 pick, so far they proved they had done their homework in passing on him.
Also missed was the cache of draft picks they accumulated in less then one full year of operation(the monahan deal was one of many)
Add to this all picks were not generational labelled players. However the 67th pick 2nd Round pick small statures d man Lane Hutson at the very least could be labeled an anomaly
