As a Yinzer – first of all – loved the game – even without Geno . I even listened to this entire video just to get the other perspective . All season long I’ve thought the Pens have played great – well above expected – & seeing veteran icons like Sid Geno & Karl performing insane all year – & with a big chunk Sid & Geno being out the team has had a next man up mentality & EK65 just turning into Paul Coffey – & also the PP & PK & 4th line being top 5 all season – 4th line probz being the best in the league – although with LIZZO being out the PK is hurting for sure .
anyways … us Yinzer fans & the team were so afraid of this game – since both teams have kinda been neck & neck all year long & the Eastern playoff race & all that – watching this vid gave me a lotttt of perspective of how Yinz all feel about your team .
At deadline – DUBAS was just like – Yinz got us this far , there ya go , not trading anyone or any draft picks , not adding anyone (except for Soderblom for depth reasons – who scored tonight btw) he traded for Chinakov a little earlier who had just been outstanding – he got rid of Jarry & that contract & also got picks outta it ! & just the hiring of Dan Muse was just … so effin solid .
Also have the most picks in the top 3 rounds of the draft for like the next 4 years … this whole time im thinkin your team was at the same level but I felt your outrage along with all the fans comments you mentioned . Honestly not trying to add dirt on the wound – just did not expect the total opposite fan feeling about your team as us Yinzers considering the #1 goaltender – #1 draft pick & likely Calder Guy & Barzal & Lee , etc.
I’m hoping we meet in the first round – cause the ISLES have been a nightmare for us in the playoffs in the past !

Penguin fan here but, I have to say, Islanders are a very good team they just had defensive breakdowns and, at least during this game, the Pens capitalized.
By no means are the Islanders out, just like by no means are the Penguins a sure bet to be in.
Many games to play (and they are all hard for, virtually, every team).
Regardless of how it ends up though, the future is looking bright for the Islanders and, frankly, for the Penguins as well.
