  1. Many fans don’t understand that in the NHL yiu draft an 18 year Kid for the player you think they'll be when they're 22-24. KK is still only 21 and will not be 22 till the beginning of next season. The Hawks have done a good job at developing defensemen. So I'm not concerned about KK's development. I do agree with the assessment that he needs to add strength. He's a small 6'1" defender, who looks more like he's 5'11". Where as a player like Levshunov is a big 6'2" and looks like hes 6"4".

  2. I don't think size will reduce speed if he does functional training like Bedard has, size goes all over the body and size will help his speed and will help him in battles, that's bizarre thinking for him. This is from AI – " For a skinny athlete, adding muscle generally increases speed rather than hindering it, provided the weight gain is functional muscle and not excessive fat. " Look at NFL players. The guys at the Hawks must be all over this.

  3. Putting on weight means putting on muscle, I don't see how that makes him weaker, or slower for that matter, look at Bedard, he put on some weight while working on his skating and it made a big difference in his game. Keith and Seabrook didn't exactly set the world on fire right away.
The kids 21, how many D men are regular NHLers at 21?
Look at Gustav Forsling, two teams gave up on him and now hes a star D Man with two cups, chill the fuck out folks.

  4. From what ive been seeing is none of these guys are really working out during the summer. Vlasic been here for years and hes still physically weak asf. Still doesnt have the conditioning to perform consistently. Korchinski is still small and still stupid. They drafted levshunov knowing the guy has no idea how to play hockey.
    Vaunted blackhawks development? Where? Who?

  5. when Murphy gets traded Korchinski will be playing regularly..but i do think he needs to hit the weight room this off season.
