Recap: San Diego Gulls vs Abbotsford Canucks, 3.28.2026



The San Diego Gulls fell 5-2 to the Abbotsford Canucks on Saturday night, despite outshooting Abbotsford 35-23. The Canucks jumped ahead early with first-period goals from Guillaume Brisebois and Ben Berard, taking a 2-0 lead into the intermission. Abbotsford extended the advantage in the second period on a Danila Klimovich power-play goal, while goaltender Jiří Patera turned aside all 21 shots he faced through two periods to keep San Diego off the board.

The Gulls pushed back in the third period, finally breaking through with goals from Justin Bailey and Judd Caulfield to cut into the deficit. However, a late surge from Abbotsford sealed the game, as Chase Wouters added an insurance marker and Ty Mueller buried an empty-net goal. Calle Clang finished with 18 saves for San Diego, while the Gulls went 0-for-5 on the power play in the loss.
