Florida trailed 3-2 before Verhaeghe tied it off a pass from Matthew Tkachuk; he won it with 15 seconds left, also off a pass from Tkachuk.

Vinnie Hinostroza had a goal and an assist in his return (2021) to the Panthers; Niko Mikkola tied it at 2 in the third.

Daniil Tarasov made 25 saves in the win.

Florida has won two straight — both against the Red Wings. The Blue Jackets visit Sunrise on Thursday.
