  1. Not that surprised they made a change, but very surprised by who they picked as the replacement. Will be interesting to see how they respond to Torts

  2. Nobody is saying that in the comments, but apparently players were miserable under Cassidy. It might be hard to believe because it's Tort who's coming in, but some players might now see light at the end of the tunnel… 🤷‍♂🤷‍♂

  3. How delightful it would be if Vegas lost its 8 remaining games and fell out of a playoff position!

  4. Either:
    a) there's a short stint of better results and then a drop off and then it all explodes in their faces
    b) it all explodes in their faces

  5. Fire Adam Foote and hire Bruce Cassidy (Canucks). Probably not even a possibility because we suck so bad😭

  6. Mitch Marner will have a lot of fun with Torts. 😀 😀 😀

I am happy for him. He will finally get somebody to know, who dont gives a sh!t about his father. 😀 😀 😀

  7. As an sjs fan, I hope this works out in the most spectacularly bad way. My god, would it be amazing if vgk didn't make the playoffs. Having VGK be added to the "point and laugh" teams (teams that were expected to do phenomenally well but fall miles short of expectation) would just be karma for the team that cheated their way to a Cup.

  8. What an idiotic move by Vegas management. Who the hell fires their coach when they've technically been in a playoff spot all year?, And they are in one now. Somebody help me out here: Does anybody ever remember in the history of the NHL that management fired a coach 10 games before the playoffs when a team is in a playoff spot? I'd be surprised if that's ever happened. Hope this backfires big time and I'm sure the Vegas players are probably pissed big time.

  9. I remember when the New Jersey Devils were tied for 3rd in the league with 45 wins, but i think they were first place in the division with like 8-9 games remaining in the regular season & they fired Robbie Ftorek.

  10. It wasn't working. They were heading out of the playoffs. I think it's a reasonable move to make. Torts should be an interim guy. He can fix a team short term. He is not good long term.

  11. It's nuts how much of a 'what have you done for me lately' coaching is in the NHL. Here's a guy that won a cup for the team 3 seasons ago. And has been good in the two seasons after that prior to this one. To think that whacking the coach in the playoff run is the way to go is about as dumb as when he was fired by the Bruins in a similar situation, which is how he landed the Vegas job

  12. You can often see when a GM’s on the hot seat when they pull a desperate move in a vain attempt to save their job. Saw it with Jarmo, I wonder if this is that move for Kelly.

  13. 8 wins, SEVENTEEN losses in their last 25 games.
Hate to say it to the people saying it's "desperate" or the situation will "implode".. because for Vegas, it already fucking has.
They're likely a playoff team BEFORE the slide, but getting bounced in the first round because the coach lost the room isn't something the ownership group is going to tolerate.
It's why Bowness came to CBJ and for Vegas, they weren't stragglers below the line. They were a competitive team but buoyed by a bad division.
Seattle is really the only team threatening to knock Vegas out and, well, based on how the Kraken have played, that seems unlikely.
Both the Kings and Sharks are well behind in regulation wins tie breakers, so that's not much of a threat either.
