How Mike Sillinger Became the NHL’s Most Traded Player

Mike Sillinger was traded 9 times in his NHL career. More trades than any other NHL player, and this record would be hard to beat with all the no-trade clauses handed out. Mike Sillinger played in the NHL for 17 seasons. Today we will break down every one of Sillinger’s trades.

Sillinger was known for being reliable, and teams kept wanting to trade for him. His play in both zones made him the type of player GMs wanted at the trade deadline.

Mike Sillinger was drafted 11th overall in 1989 by the Detroit Red Wings.

Sillinger was traded by the St. Louis Blues, Arizona Coyotes, Dallas Stars, Columbus Blue Jackets, Florida Panthers, Ottawa Senators, Tampa Bay Lightning, Philadelphia Flyers, Vancouver Canucks, Anaheim Ducks, and Detroit Red Wings.

  1. Sillinger was a decent player, too. I picked him twice in my hockey draft pool and both times he was ahead of the average for his draft pick position.

  2. Langcow was a "star " on Philly??
Dude averaged <20 goals, and around 50 pts. That's barely cracking the lineup. He did play much better when he was on Calgary but that was 5 years later
