Really hurts to see Askarov go down like that especially it being his first game back in return from an injury. It was a relatively slow game aside from that. The sharks didn't play great and they didn't play terribly either. That overtime sequence was rough…here I was preparing for a shootout and then that happened. We'll see how they do against CBJ in a couple days
The sharks should lose every game left on purpose and this meaningless point could drop them in the draft with no benefit.

It is crazy the Blues fans are celebrating when winning games now can hurt the team for years to come. Sure both the Blues and Sharks can get someone really good anyway with a pick around 6 to 11 but making the pick worse on purpose with a meaningless win or any point, some teams really pay for that in the draft where the clearly better players get picked before them. Picking lower is only cool when the team trades down and gets a bunch back for doing it or the team is a playoff cup contender. Even a team trading down though it benefits them a lot more to have the highest pick possible before they do.
I remember another sharks fan saying the point is to win always and that is just foolish. It is one reason the wings have not made the playoffs in 10 years. They not good enough to win or bad enough to get top prospects or trade down and get a ton back.
