Thus is what I keep saying when people talk about Reaves being washed. He's not washed the dude is so technically sound and they will always land punches. Just cause they fall doesnt mean they weren't even in the fight.

Fighting does not have the passion, or ferocity as it did in the80's and 90's. Watch Wendel Clarke, Bob Probert, Dave Semenko. Comparing fighting now to the old days is like comparing the WWE to MMA. For entertainment purposes only, not for the purposes of settling a real debt incurred through real passion. Ive seen too much patting each other on the ass after fight congratulating each other for the entertainment they have provided. The passion for wnning has been replaced by the pay checks received. NHL has gotten soft! It seems fighting has gotten to a point where the fight is only meant to send a message and not hurt anyone, where in the old days fighting was meant to hurt someone, and in that send a message by hurting someone. In that the players policed the game better than any referee. Now the superstars are being targetted, shortening their careers, and are not being protected. Mathews comes to mind!!

You have it as Jagger Joshua.
They have the same goal, win the fight but these 2 guys have a lot of respect for each other. 2 heavyweights and they are the 2 most toughest fighters in the league. Not many can get some punches in on Olivier to the point where he gets cut. Again 2 heavyweights and they might meet again in the playoffs and have a playoff heavyweight tilt if Carolina and Columbus face each other. Good job boys!
Even a UFC fight between 2 skilled opponent can be a little boring,its a chess match at times. Then put them on skates on ice w/ all that equipment & yea its not too primal.

I couldn’t respect either of these guys any more than I already do.
People just don’t understand it’s not the 90’s anymore & guys fight more technically these days.
