Recap: San Diego Gulls vs Calgary Wranglers, 3.22.2026

The San Diego Gulls held off a late push to secure a 5-4 win over the Calgary Wranglers on Sunday night at Pechanga Arena. San Diego jumped out to a strong start with first-period goals from Nathan Gaucher and Ryan Carpenter, then extended the lead early in the second when Gaucher struck again. Cal Burke added a power-play tally midway through the frame to make it 4-0, giving the Gulls full control before Calgary stormed back with three goals in under two minutes late in the second to cut the deficit to one.

Clinging to a 4-3 lead into the third, the Gulls tightened defensively before Gaucher completed his hat trick with an empty-net goal in the final minute to provide insurance. Calgary answered with a last-second tally, but it was not enough as San Diego closed out the 5-4 victory. Gaucher led the way with three goals, while Sasha Pastujov and Tristan Luneau each recorded two assists in the win.
