I’m from Canada and played hockey from 12 to 65,if you’ve never played you can’t fully understand what these players go through,if you watch on tv your looking from above, down on ice level your looking through a maze of players trying to make right moves, the game moves so fast
I was pretty critical of Chiarot even a couple of years into his time in Detroit, but after I heard about some of his personal struggles and the way he bounced back afterward, I can see that while he is not the quickest, nor flashiest at the blue line, he may actually be the most steady. He is arguably the mys physical force at the blue line in Detroit, and so consistant. You know what you're going to get from him night in and night out. I also love his adaptability. More than any other D-man wearing the Winged Wheel, he can partner with anyone on the team at the blue line and be solid. I feel he has been a very solid presence for the younger D-core including Sider, Edvinsson, Johansson, and up until today ASP. He's genuinly a good dude, and it was great to hear him glow-up the Metro Detroit area. A great steward for Red Wings hockey and the NHL.
Hey @OfficialRedWings ! Let Ben know that he has DNA cousins in the Detroit / Windsor area. His great grandmother is my great aunt. He might know the name Marcuz (his great grandmother). The family came from Friuli Venezia Giulia region of Italy.

I thought E52 was criminally handsome, but Chiarot, holy shit.
Dude looks like a GQ magazine cover and a Drakkar Noir ad had a baby.

what a man rocket
I remember Chiarot being drafted. He still has fans here in Atlanta. Maybe he'll still be playing when the league returns. LGRW!
Cheers, Ben!! Seems like a really nice cat… been happy to have him here as a blueliner!
A mug in a truck? Can't be trusted.
I would not pick Ben out of a line in draft year pics lol. That one with the stick I was surprised. Maybe it was just the angle
