Bouchard is a right wing who plays defense. The reason the plus/minus is so good with him on the ice 5 on 5 is because he is always on the ice with McDavid and/or Draisaitl. Bouchard’s defensive effort isn’t just bad, it’s an embarrassment to hockey. He is talented offensively, but he is too lazy and unmotivated to be a force defensively.
