I have absolutely zero expectations for this team this year. In fact I expect them to be golfing very soon. Im so lethargic with this team i dont care what happens anymore. If they surprise me great but I expect shit which exactly what we are getting.
Florida did have something to fight for: Spite. I guarantee there was lots of spite involved. Edmonton should have come into this knowing they were a bitter and angry team looking to ruin other teams chances, particularly rivals.
Last night is where I officially punted on the season. Call me a fake fan whatever you want, I’m just accepting reality now because otherwise it’s just more disappointment! The oilers don’t even deserve to make the playoffs, just gonna be lucky because the pacific is terrible and you still can’t sit at the top of ur trash division😂
After watching that game last night against the panthers I’m packing it in as an Oilers fan. They don’t deserve any more of my time or money this season. See you next season hope it’s better. What a circus and there needs to be changes. Leon called this out and I’m with him !!

Last night switched me into a fire the coach kind of guy. Knob ain’t it. We’re a weak and emotionless roster and I’m sick of watching it. Can’t wait for the off-season’s Jason Robertson chase! 😂

Meaningless game. Nobody got injured. Oilers have been playing at 60% all season.
I wonder if the Panthers broke them in the playoffs. Evidence: at least two games in the series that the Oilers looked like they weren't interested. In the finals! When theyd already been so close! And one game where they cracked and just tried to goon the Panthers into submission or something and it backfired. Did they address that in the room? Did they articulate the possible effect that would have to their psyches so they could move past it? Because I think it might have been important. Did the coaches admit, even among themselves, that they lost the plot in coaching approach in that series afterwards? They made few adjustments to systems or strategy all series long as they were getting pasted.
As embarrassing as it would have been to do so, I think that stuff all should have been acknowledged internally, solutions looked for, and I doubt they did.
Now they're playing like Knoblauch's demeanor. Is that them, or his influence? Nobody knows, but it's not going to work to just try to win on possession and corsi etc. Maybe they need a Patrick Roy type in the coaching staff.

Let’s be honest…. Florida Panthers good team sure, team USA yeah good. But we both know they aren’t winning the last 2 cups, nor the last gold medal without Vezina trophy winning goaltenders standing on their head. Turtlechuck himself wasn’t the reason they won, in fact was quite invisible, his “team” won and more specifically, his goalies. He lucked himself into that situation.
Edmonton has no fight, drai and Connor are just getting beaten more and more down. I don’t see there being a good outcome for this team anywhere in the near future
Oilers are cooked this year. Lost to much character. Need to a dress players being passengers collecting pay checks in the off season.

There are certain intangibles not measured through any metrics that every winning team/organization has. We all know what they are, and we all know the Oilers don't have it. Wanting to win more than the other team, is not a metric that propels. Its a hope and prayer and will lead to dissapointment after disappointment.
Heart, passion, tenacity, intestinal fortutude, accountability and ever relenting desire to decimate your opposition… those are some of the intangibles the Oilers need.
Michael Jordan showed up for every single performance to put on a performance. To demonstrate his dominamce and superiority every minute he graced the court. And he demanded it from everyone on the team. Accountability to a man regardless of skill level.

I love Bob Stauffer, but I honestly can’t stand Ryan Rishaug. His questions to Kris Knoblauch came off really rude. In general, his tone just feels abrasive, and it makes it hard to listen. I’ll just skip the segments he’s in and catch the next one.

Frederic hasn’t been the same since his injury after his first shift! Oilers give him a huge contract on his first 30 second shift with the Oilers, and he’s not the aggressor we thought he was!!
Oilers have a leadership problem. McD and Drai are the best players, but they’re not the type of guys that COMMAND the team to win at all costs!!
