This is what I love. Paul Maurice has a vision of more than just his home country, more than his team. He sees the effect of this game Beyond all that.

Maurice and Cooper are more than just coaches in the NHL, they are philosophers of the modern day game. Paul is someone I would love to have a drink and a few smokes with. Such a cool human being.

Paul is a smart and very thoughtful fella. But what that win will do for some of those guys, especially Auston being in TO and Connor who's had a rough couple playoffs for the Jets after being amazing during the reg season.. I don't think it can be quantified how massive this will be for their mindsets. As a Canadian and a Leafs fan, as much as I hated seeing Canada lose, a win for the US has more implications than another one for Canada. As Paul said, it has so many far reaching aspects for hockey in general which is a good thing.
Maurice should just surrender his Canadian passport. Obviously he no longer has any allegiance to his “home” country. Fuck him!

I think Team USA should give all their metals to Hellebuyck. Team USA lost the game to team Canada, but Hellebuyck beat team Canada by himself.

Gordie Howe inspired kids in Detroit, Bobby Hull in Chicago,Bobby Orr in Boston, Mike Bossy in Long Island, Mario Lemieux in Pittsburgh and so on inspired young American kids to pickup a hockey stick and play the game. Hockey was always a part of Canada these men inspired kids for generations in the US. With this win for the US it will inspire more kids and that's good for the game. Congratulations to team USA your hockey program really needed this win .

It still looked like a major league team playing a minor league team. The gloating should have been kept to a minimum due to that.

It’s time to stop developing US and EU players in Canadian minor leagues. Yeah it was great for game, but it’s not anymore, let them develop their on players now.
