December was a bad month too, January sunk them but the slip started the first week of December
It makes no sense to me that any team that would want to trade for Risto would not want it this year rather than next so he will be there for 1.5 yrs instead of a quarter year rental!!! His contract WAS an issue before but for a sure fire top-4 RHD his salary is rather a plus as opposed to a detriment… So imo, to get MAX value for Risto, it will now at this trade deadline more than this summer or the 2027 trade deadline!

If The Flyers hadn't traded up for Nesbit and hadn't extended Dvorak I would feel so different about the future of this team. Really don't think this team will ever be good again.
I understand Cam York are a better defensemen than Ristolainen no way espiecially in playoffs

This is the best time to move Risto. There's actually a market for him coming off his Olympics performance. Take the draft pick, shed salary, and run. Anyone on the roster even approaching 30 should be moved for picks and younger players.
Yet another consecutive year where you could make a team of ex Flyers who would boat race the actual Flyers. Nothing βsaidβ will ever make me believe they are going to be a good team again.
Buildinghockey equity through trades and salary retention will leave the rebuild true to course for a playoff spot by 2028. Good luck Flyerd Danny boy has a master plan with a finnish line that works believe in it….πΎ
