I can't believe the avalanche of the number one team in hockey and they can't even finish a game against a good team at home.That's pretty embarrassing
I hope Bo Nix has as many passing yards as the AVs did tonight. Pass, pass, pass , intercept, overshoot the player . Just become a little selfish and shoot the darn puk.
The Avalanche are in trouble. I will put my money on it now, Avalanche will lose to Dallas again in the second round and will lose home ice before end of season.
AVS played really well-how could ya be mad? And don't forget people-we not only have 2 point lead,& game in hand but tiebreaker is almost guaranteed ours. We have a 6 regulation win lead .That's 1 area Dallas,& especially Minny have to pay a price for all these gimicky past regulation wins is the tiebreaker. For all intensive purposes we have 3 point lead with 1 game in hand,& Dallas has the tougher schedule in theory. But ya gotta go into Chicago & win. And they are still playing hard. They just took both Dallas,& Minny into OT in the last week. Of course they "lost"-but they won't just give it to us. But if ya get that game you still could be in great shape by Saturday night as Dallas has to go into Minnesota.
So the result kinda sucked-although it was a big point,& big that Dallas doesn't get regulation or OT win. But the process was great,& hockey is a cruel,& unfair game sometimes. We also dominated the 1st matchup in Denver,& deserved a regulation win. But Ottenger stole them 2 pts that night also. Then Dallas outplayed us,& came within like 12 seconds of a regulation win in Dallas but Wedgewood stole us 2 points (to lesser degree)-that night. Tonight for the 3rd time-the team that deserved a regulation win lost the shootout-it happens. But we still control this division. Ya also gotta remember both teams are missing 4 key guys. All 4 of ours should be back in the next week to 10 days. Dallas is supposed to get 3 of their 4 back before the playoffs-although sounds like Faska not til right before the playoffs. But Seguin isn't coming back even for the playoffs. AVS also have all 4 injuries at wing.
Which has meant Naz,& Roy not only have to adjust to a new team but while playing out of position & at least 1 line higher in the lineup than they will be. This was a great process night but not a great result night. But that point,& Dallas failing to gain in the tiebreaker is far more important than most fans,& even much of the local sports media will realize in the moment. Most people just look at it as a "loss." In actuality Dallas won but we tied…& that win kept Dallas just as far back in the tiebreaker as they were at puck drop with 1 less game left. Say had Dallas scored on that late PP -id still say the process was super encouraging but the result would be far more damaging than what actually happened. But you have to go beat Chicago,-preferably in regulation. If ya do everything is fine just not ideal result wise.

Team has to stay healthy to win. Past that the goaltending is trash for the avs reference the pens game for that. Avs are great…when healthy. Like this they won't win shit
What a game! I agree with coach, that’s the best the Avs have looked in a few weeks, I think both of these teams brought their best because they know how important that game was. The bounce back from Wedgie was great to see, Cale is a monster! This team is gonna be dangerous come playoffs, can’t wait!

I loved the physical play. The Avs looked good. Shootouts are a 50/50 deal. The points are needed.

Play that way in future games and the Avs will go far. Otter was great. Saved the Stars. Overall, the Avs looked the more complete team.
Avs outplayed the Stars. Outshot them big time, gave up very few shots. Bad puck luck. Otter was outstanding. Tough loss.
