That’s Mark Spector, and actually, you’re falling into Mark Spector’s trap by being triggered by that. The dude is deliberately contentious and is the last person players want to face after having a bad game. That said, Nurse is arrogant and is playing his worst hockey. Move him to winger. If that doesn’t improve anything, the Oilers need to lose him quick. It’s an immediate issue.
Agree that Nurse needs to take accountability! Spec has a reputation of being an asshole. None the less, Nurse has a responsibility to the media and the fans to provide some insight into the teams performance.

I wouldn’t take Nurse on my team if you offset his entire salary. He seems to take shifts off, doesn’t have an ounce of fire and is NOT a big game player. I watch him play and think “why would you pay this guy and not trade his ass to Montreal”?

Wasn’t it Mark that put Leon over the top? These guys have emotions like the rest of us and if someone is poking them with a knife it hurts. I would like to see the team and the NHL start protecting the players from the media. There is no value in these interviews for anyone, especially the fans. Most interviews are regurgitated crap. Players or coaches, it doesn’t matter, stop the pain for everyone. The entertainment is in the game. Put Mark out of work and everyone benefits. 😅

I don't know. On the one hand – bad game and Nurse needs to own it. On the other, he was expecting to miss the game and fly home to be with his family but baby had different plans and came early. So he had zero sleep and his head was no where near Northern California on game day. With what was happening at home, I don't think Nurse really cared what Spec had to say about his play and I can't really blame him.
The whole entire team seemed like they were ready to be done with this road trip and just wanted to go home (especially the guys who had been in Italy)
