There was a lot of good news dropped with the New Jersey Devils Today. Tomas Tatar Signed a 2 year contract with the NJ Devils, Yegor Sharangovich Re-signs, and Kevin Dineen will coach the Utica Comets who are the Devils AHL team.
The highlight of the day was the announcement that Tomas Tatar has signed and what does this hold with the NJ Devils and Vladimir Tarasenko? Are they out or can they still acquire him in a trade with the St Louis Blues. Tom Fitzgerald, GM of the Devils, has had a great offseaaon with the additions of Dougie Hamilton, Jonathan Bernier, and Ryan Graves and Tatar was that top 6 forward that will hell the Devils score more goals this year.

I hope we're still interested in Tarasenko. I'm not as high on Tatar as everyone else seems to be. He's really a middle six winger, and if we're using him on the top line, I think we're going to be disappointed.

Fills a need, good length of contract and pay, skilled fast winger…. Very good business. Hope it works out, never seen him to much at Montreal but watched him at the red wings. Exciting times ahead!

What’s not to like about this signing? This also puts a lid on the Tarasenko deal. That would be long term and lock the Devils into something they might regret in 2-3 years. Tatar’s deal looks so much better and he brings that top 6 they need
This may be one of better offseasons the NJ Devils have had in quite some time. Tom Fitzgerald really took advantage of the Seattle Draft and free agency. Can't wait to see how this team develops this season.
