(Seeing DJ and his team play with so much unity, brotherhood , grit, skill and poise is something I’ll never forget. He not only found his Vegas basketball family, but was blessed to become part of a state championship run. God is good.)
The Chargers capture the NIAA 4A State Championship, rallying from a 12-point deficit for the upset victory. Akron signee Devin Christian led the uprising in the paint and guard CJ Edwards hit two key 3-pointers during the rally.
Edwards’ corner 3 on a handoff from Christian gave the Chargers their first lead, 51-48, late in the fourth quarter. The visitors from Las Vegas saw the Huskies miss three 3-point attempts in the final minutes that would have tied the game.
Clark closed the season 22-5 with a No. 2 ranking in Nevada (MaxPreps). North Section champion Bishop Manogue finished 26-3, No. 5 statewide.
