In a profoundly moving display of brotherhood and remembrance, Team USA’s men’s ice hockey team honored the late Johnny Gaudreau during their gold medal celebration at the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics.

After defeating Canada 2-1 in overtime to claim America’s first men’s hockey gold in 46 years, players including captain Auston Matthews and Zach Werenski, and Matthew Tkachuk paraded Gaudreau’s No. 13 Team USA jersey around the ice, holding it high as a symbol of his enduring presence.

The tribute deepened when Werenski and Dylan Larkin gently brought Gaudreau’s young children—Noa (3) and Johnny Jr. (who turned 2 that day)—onto the rink to join the team for the official gold-medal photo. The children stood amid their father’s teammates, surrounded by gleaming medals and the jersey that represented him.
