Dougie Hamilton Refused To Waive His No Move Clause

“Why are players being asked to waive NMC and go back on a signed contract that a team gave them for nothing?”

Colby Cohen thinks Devils fans’ anger should not be directed towards Dougie Hamilton.

  1. No trade clause is a big part of contracts getting finalized. If you dont like it give them more $ and no clause. Simple as that, hamilton is completley in the right

  2. What you guys are missing is that his play this year has warranted a healthy scratch, and the devils currently have 3 rhd all better than him. It’s not about business at this point he’s just been bad

  3. I wish no movement clauses were just banned. Regardless if it's the player's right or not the team can make him as miserable as possible to the point he is forced out of town no matter what which can ruin a career. Shocked he would say no to the Sharks given they are even in a playoff spot now and looking super dangerous for years to come

  4. I can understand why he put SJ on the no trade list in the summer, but this team is way ahead of schedule with one of the top young players over the past 15 years. He’s immediately a lot into the first or second line.

I think his argument on blocking this trade rings hollow right now.

  5. The sharks are not in a rebuild anymore
They are a wild card team and in a few years will be a Stanley cup contender

  6. Because a buyout screws the team cap for too long. Thanks to NJD Kovalvhuk deals they had to put the penalty in. Just look at the Canucks still paying OEL and its hurt their team so bad in deciision on their last 3 Captains

  7. To be fair, Devils arent that great either, I dont think at this point Sharks are on lists cuz they dont want to go to
rebuilds…if Devils are doing this to try and get him to waive, they should be punished… dont give out nmc if you cannot accept a player using it

  8. Especially when they want you to go to a state like California where he will be taxed at a higher rate, and cost of living is even higher than NJ. Pay the man or shut up.
