Welcome back DD! (I see the tan!). Not surprised that the Hughes was quiet on the trade front considering the overabundance of players he has (healthy) right now and you kinda knew he didn't want to disrupt the chemistry of his tight knit group going into the playoffs. As for the mystery transaction Hughes oh so subtlely mentioned…MY GUESS, it involved the St.Louis Blues who they have seemingly been talking on and off since the Mailloux-Bolduc trade which reportedly was suppose to be an even bigger trade. The reason it didn't get done…Laine wasn't moved…and Hughes didn't want to disrupt the locker room bc you know Hab roster players would have been involved. I personally hope I'm wrong and it's not Robert Thomas bc I feel he is too similar in style w/Suzuki. I want our 2C to be a different style…preferably big, skilled but with an edge to their game. With that said, the player I want is not the kind of player MSL likes and Thomas fits the Hab present mold & timeline…still young at 26, skilled, 2 way, NHL experienced, with term. I also hope Billington was not as close to being a Hab target as some have said…great goalie but between the ears is what worries me. We will have to wait and see in the summer, but we know Hughes needs to create a solid 2nd offensive line. I still have major concerns with the team defense (including how the D men play)bc I feel IF this team gets in the playoffs, it all be a short one for the Habs. But that is the positives of staying pat at trade deadline…you go into the playoffs seeing how far this roster can get you along with MSL's playoff coaching style. If they go far, I apologize for not knowing anything about hockey LOL…but if they exit quickly and looking bad…then Hughes knows the team's weaknesses, players that don't show up, and he can make the necessary moves to rectify the situation. Btw, sneaky move at the end of your vlog DD…with your sneaky smirk…do I suspect a return of some kind of the OG Habs Tonight? Guess I'll have to wait and see. Go Habs Go!
It's still a "win your own games" mindset that the Habs should have between now and a clinched playoff berth because it is too tight in the Eastern Conference standings right now.
We score a lot of goals. If our goalies could get their save % above .900 we are absolutely a cup contender. Reinbacher, Fowler, and Hage starting the playoffs. That is impressive so maybe the trade deadline was as it should have been
Drew, with all due respect to Sam Montembeault, as a fan I don't care to see him between the pipes anymore. The team has lost confidence in him and it's time to call up Fowler.
been a fan for 20 years and this is the most confident i have felt about becoming contenders soon – confident enough to sit up until 5am to watch us lose to the sharks and ducks… but at least we beat the kings and stopped them doing 10 in a row against us Go Habs Go
the window isnt open you dont make moves . is that simple enough for everybody?
so i was right again drew. you would think i would be gettingtired of predicting things…not when they come true. and insiders dont know f all. gohabsgo
I've been watching your videos probably for over 2-3 years. This is probably the 10th time you've come on and apologied for being away. I don't know why you need to do that quite honestly. A lot of streamers take breaks. It is what it is. You have a life and we get it. Go habs go!!
Stick to the plan, yes. But I'm not sure that just getting an extra defensemen for the playoffs would have threatened the Habs' long term plans. The Habs are really going to have to improve their defensive play. As for Laine, unless I'm mistaken, I don't think he's worth much…I guess the playoffs will provide answers…tough times ahead for sure against Buffalo or Tampa Bay…
I think they should leave Fowler and Reinbacher in Laval and let them go on their own playoff run. Will do them both good playing top minutes in a playoff run.
Hage, well depends on how far his team makes it. IF they go all the way to the end of the Frozen Four, then the earliest he would join the Habs would be Apr 12, which would leave the last 2 games of the season, on the road, vs the Isles and Philly.
Selfishly, would love to see him in the line up by the 5th, as I will be going to the Jersey game.

Content / Hugo that has started a lot of rumours 😂😂🙈
Glad to have you back Drew!
The Cardiac Kids, for sure. Hughes wasn't going to sell the farm for a short term rental. Shane Wright was in the trade rumours. Yikes.

If they make the playoffs
Go Habs Go!!
I think it wouldn't have hurt them if they got Jonathon quick at least he wouldn't let in four goals a night

I look forward to seeing Hage and Reinbacher as well. But will they be able to handle the playoffs?
