Jeff Paterson: Who would want to trade for any these Canuck players?

RinkWide’s Jeff Paterson joins to share his thoughts after watching the lack of effort last night, and how the Elias Pettersson that we once marveled at, has turned into what we see now. Jeff talks about the vibes around yesterday’s media scrum with Pettersson and where this player goes from here with 6 years left on his contract. Plus, the guys wonder if management and coaches suffer consequences because of EP40’s lack of production.

  1. Sorry jpat it doesn’t surprise me he spoke like that with the sill questions you always ask

  2. The Canucks have now reached the subterranean point where they would probably be better off just firing everyone in sight and starting from scratch as if they were a new expansion franchise.

  3. Besides his agent, who is responsible for selling EP40s outrageous contract to the ownership? Sedin twins are advisors, so was it them? I would suggest firing all advisors that have given Canucks ownership bad advice…. Since the beginning, that contract signing was the dumbest thing myself and many other fans (that have played yrs of ice hockey) have seen in a long time (in this professional league).

  4. We’ve had a few elite players like EP 40 andQuinn Hughes and demco that’s about it. That’s the problem they’ve never in this year of cannot talk ownership management. I’ve never built a team around the elite players

  5. Adam Foote has made bizarre line-up decisions all year. He was hired because they wanted system continuity (which went off the rails the prior season) and for his relationship with Quinn Hughes?? If management doesn't move-on from him at the end of the season they need to be re-evaluated for their inability to evaluate coaching talent!

  6. Petey canucks fist overall and 50% retained might get you a 5th round pick no team is taking him on or Boeser or Demko this team is screwed for a very longtime face facts

  7. Maybe Hughes, Miller and Tocchet were right about Pettersson. He's not doing himself any favors, and when all these people have come out and expressed similar concerns about the same guy, maybe there's something there. Even EP40's owner (Allvin) has said that he wasn't happy with his preparation – how many people need to say the same thing before the media and fanbase stop pointing the fingers at Miller being a bully, or Hughes and Tocchet bailing (only in regards to EP40 – Miller I'm sure had his own issues – and I'm a big Miller on the Canucks fan). There's no smoke without fire when it comes to these types of things and EP40 keeps fanning the flames and making it harder and harder for people to keep giving him a pass on or off the ice. My opinion only.

  8. I can't believe you guys would advocate to replace the mgmt team to please 11.6
They deserve to be fired, but not because it would be better for the princess.
What do you do? Sue for him for breach of contract? Push him down the stairs and hope he breaks a leg? Frame him for a serious crime so he goes to jail for 6 years?

  9. This is not going to end well for the Canucks and Pettersson. They should fire Rutherford and Alvin. Can't believe Crosby even called Rutherford to tell him they got a great player in Markus Pettersson.

  10. Petey should’ve stayed a winger. The only reason he was so good was because he was their 3rd line center behind Horvat and Miller.
