Boomer, Pinder, and Rhett are joined by Noodles to dive into the big question surrounding Elias Pettersson and his recent struggles. Is he just going through a rough stretch, or is there something deeper going on? The guys debate whether Pettersson can return to the elite level he once played at, if a change of scenery could help him rediscover his game, and whether a team should be willing to take a chance on a talented player looking to get back to form.

Wasnt there a change of scenery in Italy?
Hes aged prematurely. All his speed is gone. Needs space & time to be effective. Maybe Abbotsford?
Canucks fan. ABBA Take a chance on me…WTF😅😮 Then I had to watch Quinn Hughes on Saturday Night live with his Gold Medal…I would have had one kind of positive thing to talk about at West Kelowna Noon Hour Hockey 😅😅
$11m chance for a playoff team. Great way to give a good team nothing but cap problems for years. Vancouver has to find a GM that hasn’t watched hockey before.
I'll be in utter disbelief if any team takes him this week, even with 50% retention. His game has vanished.
His confidence seems to be shot and there's no way any team will pay what the Canucks want for him. Petey is a reclamation project at this point.
The way the Canucks are going they are going to draft first. You do not want EP as a role model for a number 1 pick. You need to move him.
Detroit Red Wings
He needs a lowkey US market. That Cap Hit gets better every year. Van would definitely retain some.
Look Vancouver had a terrible start due to injuries and now they are just buying into the tank game.
Rick Tochett really ruined this players confidence.
He will never see 100 pts again. I believe this is the reason Rick Tocchet left. They chose Petterson over Miller. Tocchet knew better and most likely objected and left.
he got his contract he will b better the last yr of his contract
Pettersson Inc. Is perfect rebuild material. Keep all of them! ♓️
Put him on the wing, he is too weak to play centre. All the defensive tasks have take a toll on him.
I am worried it’s drugs or alcohol, he seems weak
And compromised.
His 100 point season was a one off. He is more like a consistent 60-70 point guy.
I couldn't care less if he gets 150 points and wins a cup somewhere else, he's not good for Vancouver and vice versa.
Send him to Toronto in return for Reilly. Both need a new start.
I agree Vancouver doesn’t get enough sun, causes depression pretty severely,I’m a victim of that
Petterson is just another player in hockey history who has passed his peak, and is never going to get any better. There have been other famous examples over the decades of young, hot rookies who come into the NHL and are sensational in their first couple of years. They then get big contracts, but also big expectations for them to become franchise superstars and team leaders. Some players do get better and live up to the expectations, but some don't. Petterson is one who doesn't. It's unfortunate but that's the reality and wishful thinking isn't going to change it.
Petterson isn't strong enough, and he isn't fast enough. He's a good average player, but certainly not a great franchise superstar. The huge contract Rutherford and Allvin gave him was obviously a major mistake. For me, the main flaw in his game is his skating. He just doesn't have the power and speed he needs to dominate on the ice in today's fast, physical game. Anyone who has watched a lot of Canucks games, and compared Petey with one of the greatest power skaters in the game — Quinn Hughes — can easily see the difference.
Noodles needs to do his research. Huberdeau never played much with Barkov. Huberdeau played primarily with Duclair. Conroy’s biggest mistake was not signing Duclair when he was a UFA to help jumpstart Huberdeau.
He lost it when he got stronger. He was lethal when he was slender and quick. He could do his guy back then. But then everybody told him "you need to get stronger" And now his mojo is gone
A couple of decent wingers would help him. Debrusk and Kane are where plays go to die.
