Armstrong is no better than Treliving. Blues are a bottom 5 team and messed up the Team Canada selections.
Sabres fan here. Ristolainen seemed miserable in Buffalo during his time here. Bringing him back to WNY seems cruel. I doubt he waives his trade protection for the Sabres too.
blues better be careful trading a sure thing in Thomas for what could be in hage…hage could turn out to be a big bust…
Utah could easily meet the Blues asking price and end this endless nightmare of Montreal scoffing at the price…but never going away

I’d be very surprised if Thomas actually gets moved. I think Utah and Montreal both make sense but as far as I know there’s been no indication that he’d waive his trade protection. On the other hand I think Kyrou would be more than willing to waive and he’d come at a much cheaper price, but even that’s a stretch. After watching Army for years I think he’ll probably just move Faulk or Schenn and maybe another botton 6 guy and call it

Trading Robert Thomas would be a huge mistake by the Blues–yes, it's rebuild time ,BUT, you build around Thomas, he's 26 and in his prime. Just my opinion, but, Thomas should be the one untouchable on this team.
The blues gave up the Thompson for Ryan oreilly. On paper they got the worst half of that trade except they won
The cup. Opportunities to win a cup don’t come along that often. Thomas is expensive but he’s an exceptional player. Armstrong knows what he has so why shouldn’t he ask a lot?
Bruins have plenty of players just like Connor Garland. They need a player with more impact than that.
As a Habs fan no thanks to Thomas especially at that price… I wouldn’t do Hage at all … I would do Dach , engstrom and a pick … reinbacher and Hage are off the table
I think it's a decent move adding Murphy but for a 2nd is too high

I don't understand how the gossip mongers you get a lot of your intel from think the even a team as bad this year as St Louis should trade away a 1st or 2nd line center that everyone wants, weaking them for the near future for draft picks that may or may not turn out. I think the foundation is there maybe moving out some older players would be better.
Hi Mike, Victor here. I'm a Pens fan, and looking at the incredible job Kyle Dubas has done plus he has said a few times now that "we're in the execution stage of our plans" I believe he is going for a big swing or two for elite players now. When we look at our farm, again an amazing job rebuilding it, it's full of really good supportive players, not an elite player. Look at drafting Kindle, fantastic pick and player but I can't see this kid becoming an elite player. All of that is completely fine, but we need an elite center and possibly winger. Thomas fits exactly what Kyle is looking for!! And imagine a second line of Malkin-Thomas-Chinakhov we would have one of the best if not the best top two lines in the NHL. We have loads of picks and players like Koivunen, Novak, etc to also put forward. Thomas would take the Pens from playoff team to contender and would definitely give Sid another run at Cup 4 in his career! 3 or so years from now, after the 3 retire, he would continue with us for another 5-6 more high quality years. A guy like Chinakhov, a pure sniper, needs a setup man and I don't see anyone better. Those two could be an Oates-Hull type for years to come! Please Lord, have Kyle Dubas & co go after Thomas! Thoughts Mike???
