The opening day of the men’s tournament was a wild one, and two Penguins helped their country to a victory! Patrick and Hunter begin the show discussing the near-upset of Team Sweden by Team Italy on the opening day of the men’s Olympic tournament. They take a look at how Erik Karlsson and Rickard Rakell performed in Sweden’s victory and how Italy’s goaltending nearly stole the show. (0:00) Then, on Thursday, Sidney Crosby and Team Canada will take on Czechia. Team Latvia and possibly Penguins’ goaltender Arturs Silovs will meet Team USA, as well. They preview both of those games as well as take a look back at the U.S. women’s team dominating Team Canada. (11:26) Finally, just because the Penguins are on break doesn’t mean Warrior Helmet Wednesday is! They hand out their MVP of the week to close out the show! (29:58)

I am satisfied with the direction of the Pittsburgh Penguins.
I have my thoughts on JT Miller and Vincent Trocheck as well, but I kind of have your process as long as they dress the right people for the big games. So basically Mike Sullivan, don't do what you did against Canada last year and scratch one of your top snipers in Kyle Connor.
Also speaking of former Penguins, I anticipate a big performance from former Penguin, Jake Guentzel. He was tremendous at the 4 Nations last year, and I expect a big Olympics from him this year, he thrives in these big game situations, as we saw during his time here in the black and gold.
I know we can all say who deserves to be there, and it is a shame that those players are not here, but we can't take away the fact that the players picked do not deserve to be there. It is an honor to play for your country, and that is what we should take from this.
