Plenty of Juice – Coming in Hot LIVE – February 6th

The Ottawa Senators head into the NHL Olympic break on a high note after a massive overtime win in Philadelphia. James Reimer stepped in as a late starter and delivered, allowing just one goal after Linus Ullmark was sidelined by illness.

What does this win mean for Ottawa as they sit idle until February 26? Are the Sens building momentum at the right time, or does the long break cool things off? The guys break down the win, Reimer’s performance, and what comes next as Ottawa gears up for the stretch run.

  1. People over focus on the bad shift change. Those things happen. Didn't Carolina get caught a couple times during that game? Difference was their goalie bailed them out.

  2. If they say Linus had the flu, why can't you just leave it at that? I don't think the speculation is good for anyone … well maybe for people who are not fans of the team.

  3. 13:45 I've almost never disagreed with Graeme, but this Linus speculation is offside. I frankly don't care whether Linus is sick or not. Speculating that he's not actually sick is only feeding the monster that drove him away in the first place. Frankly it's a lesser version of the rumours that were flying around when he left.

Give the man a chance to get back. This speculation could be received as turning on him when we need him most. Can't have that

  4. An entire Olympic Hockey game was rescheduled due to “flu like symptoms” … settle down folks.

  5. The best part of nights games was watching that moron Mathew Tkachuk getting filled in after that idiotic, predatory hit on Kucherov.

  6. If they can keep playing the way they are, the team will always have a chance to win. We have seen in the past that sometimes the goalies are just regular goalies, but they still win the Stanley Cup. GO SENS GO!!

  7. 24:00 Best case scenario is Detroit falls out of even the WC spots, Buffalo climbs to the top 3 Atlantic, Boston climbs to WC1, and Ottawa climbs to WC2. Detroit is only 3 points ahead of Boston, and Boston has a game in hand on them, so they are both in reach. Ottawa has the most control over Detroit with 2 matchups left this season. Otherwise, yes, we are looking to overtake Boston, with no more head-to-head matchups

  8. I don’t personally think Travis Green’s job is on the line. It’s clear he didn’t have the goaltending to be a playoff team at the moment.

  9. 44:27 I truly believe that if the Sens land in WC2, they have a good chance at making it to the Eastern Conference Finals if they can show up early in the first round. A succesful first round matchup against Carolina would fuel a tear through the second round against any of Pitt, NYI or CBJ. Then we'll see how healthy and energetic Tampa can be after having gone through Atlantic teams in the 1st and 2nd round.

  10. Guys you are absolutely cruel with Ullmark. Everybody at one point (even many) in their life have super bad moments. You should be ashamed.

  11. They have young right shot defensemen coming up. Just have to wait for them. They should have kept Foresberg as insurance. We traded away too many first round picks – DeBrincat and Chychrun. I think at some point they will end up trading some of the big guys before their contracts are up…

  12. Sens probably need to go 16-9 to make the playoffs (they'd have 95 points). If the team stays competitive Timmy can definitely hit 90 points. If the team loses 10 games I think it's kind of over and the whole team's performance will drop and he'll be short.

  13. not really sure what s going in with Ullmark and hope he feels better but as Sens fan i just can’t trust him , there s always something and his inconsistency . Staios is in tough place , this s a guy who makes 8.25 millions who was suppose to be one of the team pillar and fans ask to trade him 😃who the hell is going to trade for him 😃 . hopefully the olympic brake will do him well

  14. That whole Linus segment could have been about how stupid cagey the team is about all of it's lineup changes and player availabilities but instead it turned into a weird speculation about our goaltender with discussions about buying him out this off season??? Obviously the team had some sort of heads up as they got Shepdog to the game in time, but like… hockey player gets sick during winter, more news at eleven. Chabot got sick DURING a game this season. Olympics just cancelled an entire game over the flue, like, what are we doing here? There was so much support for Linus and his mental health and the second he gets sick there's a segment on him being weird and the "reality" the team has to face… Graeme needs a post-it note beside his monitor, and ethernet cables, to remind him that when Yorkie is out of the lineup he has to be the guy to keep Wally's saltness in check — next man up mentality — otherwise the show has no vibes. Sens are leaving for the "Winter International Competition" break on a high note, but here's a five minute segment on why a guy who didn't even play might suck because a primadonna in another conference called out his team's goaltender…

  15. Come one, Graeme, it's flu season.. you have kids, you know how it is, it's almost impossible for them not to bring home something from school this time of year. There's no need to speculate on Ullmark. He's had enough of that this season.

  16. People get sick – even $8 million dollar Goaltenders who just came back from a leave of absence. As they say, $hit happens!

  17. I have a couple questions: Should the accolades for the "low shot total" that Ottawa is having this season be given to the play of the forwards? Their back-checking ways? The Travis Green System? I mean how the heck is a D-Core with a bottom 4 of undersized Spence, a 2nd year D-man in Kleven, an offensive minded laid-back-guy D-man in Chabot and a 35 year old Nick Jensen playing 2nd pairing minutes and coming off hip surgery creating Historical Low Shot totals like we are seeing this year? It seems absurd….we don't even block that many shots! A very unique season we are witnessing for sure.
Enjoy the Olympic Break and Keep up the good work guys, Go Sens Go!
