The coaching staff needs stop fucken line changes
The Wings forgot to re-pay the Bruins the favor by ramming some of them into the boards. When the Wings don't play aggressive enough and return the favor on checking,. especially with a team like the Bruins, they will lose. And it obviously didn't help with Swayman having a great night picking every puck shot at him. So, for the Bruins, it was a little luck and great play by their lines who played the Wings aggressively. The Bruins aren't that good. The Wings played good, but they let the Bruins take possession of the puck, especially in the 3rd period, and they pushed the Wings around like the bullies the Bruins usually are, but again, the Bruins aren't that good.
This is not looking good for the kids. MBN sent down, Kasper with 6 points, ASP ice reduced, Danielson sent down. I hope they have a better presence next season.
The Red Wings should have new Detroit cult hero, Ford worker TJ Sabula, blow the goal horn pregame at the next home game.

Two physical games in a row with this structure and the size of your team this was inevitable.They passed on Alex Tucc.Passed On Naseem kadri.Are they going to pass on Jason Robertson? With a team that preaches defense and speed you have to have four good lines. There's no way of getting around this. So whether you're going to make another young kid line as your fourth line and bring up Buuium Zverch , and some of the other young prospects. This is how the rest of the season is going to be.. the wings have the second hardest schedule of any team in the NHL going forward. 90 points get you into the playoffs. But that's just to the playoffs. They don't have the depth yet to go later rounds.

These excessive back to backs to accommodate the Olympics is one of several reasons I am against the NHL in participating in the Olympics… to cram everything dilutes the talent just to have the time off for the Olympics. Just imagine how much worse it’ll be when we have an 84 game season.
If they were running on empty and tired, why was Kane by far the best player on the ice all night for either team? The 37yo on the fake hip. I don't buy it.
I think a lot of the problem on these back to backs has been mental. It's a character issue. These guys don't know how to dig deep and find that extra whatever. Kane does and did so most of the night, esp the first couple periods. No excuse for the other guys, most of whom are much younger and healthier.
Im sick of the excuses for the kids. Asp finnie and kasper have been awful. The whole team is soft. No one will hit anyone

I think they should set up the schedule that if you play back to back the opposing team should be on a back to back aswell. On another topic can we actually hit something I hate we don't hit anything ever ugh maddening
NHL screwed them by having a night game at home, then flying very late to Boston for a night game. Additionally, it would be nice if someone on the Wings would actually body-check someone on the other team.
I could see it against Carolina, theyre TIREDDDDD boss. I was shocked we had another back to back game when we have like a 3 game lead on the rest of the conference.
After the weekend and Monday this was a scheduled loss to me.
Agreed that the first line has been an issue, but a lot of it has been Larkins play. Since he was named to the Olympic team he’s looked like garbage. The only chances he’s getting are all on the powerplay and even then he’s messing up our entries and turning the puck over a lot. He should be able to drive a line regardless of his line mates and he’s been off lately.
Fun fact … that 2nd line thats carrying us are all non Yzerman picks. Not saying anything bad i love the yzerplan but it is interesting.

If Kasper were sent down (to bring back Leonard), would they have to put him on waivers? I think ASP does show spark often enough to keep him on the roster.
We got tossed around physically in the Montreal game too.
The coaching staff has neutered their captain by putting Kasper on his line. They should send Kasper down to GR for the rest of the year. Bring up Leonard to replace him.
