2 solid players out long term plus Suzuki is playing through something as well…wouldn't be surprised if this triggers some activity from Gorton and Hughes, see if something interesting could drop by shaking the NHL trade tree. Who knows, this could end being a blessing in disguise.
Veleno is a waste of his linemates time. Vanilla veleno is soft as butter and ruining every line he is on. Finally Davidson called up a couple weeks late. Marty is not my favorite coach anymore.
Trusting MSL with his NEW lines…hoping it sparks something. With that said, if non-hockey coaching experience me had a crack at the lineup…I would have liked to see Bolduc who is a hard forechecker, good shot, lefty…with Kapanen, righty at Center, and Demidov. Keep Evans, Anderson, Gally intact. Dach Centering Veleno & Davidson. Yes I know, Dach on 4th line? I don't look at it as lines 1-4, I look at it as 4 balanced lines going for at least 2 periods…depending on results, you may choose to tinker in 3rd. On PP1, and this will get me heat…place Dobson with his big shot on the point. This will force the opponents PK to cheat higher up to take away Dobson's shot (which also gives the PP another option as Hutson's shot Is not high caliber yet so teams know he will pass) but this will in-turn allow ever so slightly more down low space for Suzuki, Caufield, Demidov and Slaf to work. Hutson is struggling, putting way too much pressure on himself to do too much…put him on PP2…if he still struggles…not as a punishment but a message to relax, be Lane Hutson, give Matheson a turn on the PP even on PP1 as he's played PP with the Suzuki line for the past few seasons. I'm not worried with Hutson, but you can tell he's shown signs of not being himself. With the D pairings, I would put Matheson back with Hutson, Dobson with Struble, Xhekaj with Carrier…Hutson needs some veteran help, and I'm sorry but Struble is not a good partner for Lane. Just my opinion as a couch coach. But as I said, I trust in MSL's lines, I understand why he made the lines the way he did. I'm just hoping for a full team effort esp team defense in front of Monty…keep an eye on the shots against. I think this will be another close game but I'm confident it's very winnable. But even if they lose, I won't join the panic bandwagon…it's up to this young team with MSL to get out of it. No panic moves needed, just yet. Calma, Calma, Calma! Go Habs Go!

Let’s put an NHL rookie playing his first game with a guy with no points and another guy with no goals. Good luck.
Don’t forget Laine. Maybe not everyone’s guy but he’s an upgrade from Velano

Historically changes in lines don't work short-term. They take time to gel.
