  1. As a ducks fan, I love the way that Kase plays. He'll fit right in with the speed and physicality of the Bruins. The only problem is that he has had chronic injury problems, and he hasn't been able to stay healthy long enough for him to gain any kind of momentum. I love this trade for the Ducks.

  2. Very much fleeced David backes was a good player in his heyday but Andersson has a bit of a problem defenceably. The only good thing for the Ducks is the 1st round pick

  3. I think Boston won with this trade. They get rid out of Backes (ye they had to pass 1 round pick but was worthy in my opinion)+ Kaše is very solid player and if he is gonna stay healthy he may be really big upgrade to 2nd or 3rd line. We will see

  4. Anaheim fan: That pick better be worth it or this is upsetting at this stage of Anaheim’s development

  5. As a Ducks fan I’m ok with this trade. Actually kind of surprised at the return was not expecting a 1st and a prospect for Kase so that was a plus. I am going to miss him and his energy but the injury bug just won’t let him go. Hopefully he finds success in Boston and stays healthy finally. But not a bad overall trade for either team.

  6. Ondrej Kase is not Don Sweeney’s main exchange. Know it! He immediately went to Kase to find a player who could complete the second trio with Krejci and Debrusk if he ever fails to sign Kyle Palmieri (or perhaps Jean-Gabriel Pageau). Contrary to what many amateurs think, I don’t think Sweeney tried to get hold of Chris Kreider. The latter is too expensive and offers only an uncertain future to the team; and Kreider, as a rental player, would have been a ridiculous financial decision. Freed from 75% of Backes' salary, now Sweeney will do everything to sign Palmieri (or Pageau) for several years. In exchange for Palmieri (or Pageau), the Devils (or the Senators) will be offered Danton Heinen, John Moore and a choice of second round 2020. Sweeney dreams, for the playoffs, these forward lines:
    Pastrnak-Bergeron-Marchand
    Kase-Krejci-Palmieri (or Pageau)
    DeBrusk-Coyle-Björk
    Kuraly-Wagner-Kuhlman
If he manages to set up such an attack, Sweeney knows that his team will already have a first hand on the Stanley Cup.

  7. As a bruins fan I'm excited to get kase. Should be a good fit, just hope they don't treat him like Johansson and let him walk after the season.

  8. As a bruins fan who has never seen Kase play, I can only hope this guy finds a way to get and stay healthy. With Boston paying 25% of Backes contract and the 2.6M Kase cap hit, they aren't saving much cap space and just replaced one player that was not playing, with another that is injured and not playing.
Not ready to get excited about this deal just yet.

  9. If you look at the advanced stats Kase is really good, and he’s not producing cause of who he plays with

  10. I’m a bruins fan and I really like this trade because Backes can’t do anything for us anymore and Anderson probably wouldn’t have gotten enough of a chance with us to become a reliable defenseman and I don’t really mind giving up a 1st rounder

  11. Seems like a good trade for both teams mainly because Kase has been injury prone. Rebuilding ducks basically get a 2nd and a first and pick up salary they can easily afford.
