  1. If superstitions keep you as a considered greatest wide receiver of all time, I'd keep avoiding him too 😂

  2. That’s why Rice was better than him. He was worried about relationships and Rice was worried about beating him

  3. The films of him running down fast running backs like Tony Dorsett and Eric Dickerson are amazing. He just had a different gear.

  4. I'm the BIGGEST Jerry Rice fan in the world, but I TOTALLY AGREE WITH GREEN ON THIS ONE. You should totally be able to check on a brother through life. Especially if you guys don't have any issues with each other. With this story alone, I can tell what type of person GREEN is👍👍💪💪

  5. The greats always have a way of creating reasons to not like their opponents. It is mental game that separates guys like MJ from Lebron.

  6. Everyone has their thing man. And Jerry is arguably the Goat. Who are any of us including Green to question his process? 🤷‍♂️

  7. I think it’s good for competition that opposing players are unfriendly
Bill Walsh, if I remember correctly, instructed his players to NOT help up opposing players
    Little things

  8. DG and Rod Woodson were my favorite corners of the 80’s. DG was so GD fast. He could catch anyone on the field at all times. Great man too from what I’ve heard and read. Thoroughly enjoyed watching him play the game. Wish him all the best. Great show gents!

  9. I get what Darrell is saying and I agree, but some people are just not wired that way. It's not so easy to just turn it on and off. Rice was such a competitor and an overachiever that I guess in his mind he had to have that edge.

  10. Greatest DB ever. He don’t have to run around and tell everybody how great he was, unlike the other dude who will tell you everyday

  11. Every time you hear a story about the best of the best of the best at a position in any sport, there are stories like this one. Dude was there to catch footballs.

  12. I was a HS coach in GA at some pretty high-level schools. I taught and coached at 7 different schools, so I inevitably ran across some coaches from across the field. At first, I was always standoffish. I also learned that was no way to be.

  13. Naw. I can't go with Darrell with that one. As a man he should have had that conversation with Jerry, man to man. It never should have gotten to the media. If Jerry would have kept the same energy, then that's what it is. We don't speak and that's it. No media. I have to question if it was out of character for him. I hope it was.

  14. Jerry Rice ignored a lot of people after the game, fans, media, NFL personnel, other NFL players. I can't speak about owners. I just know what I saw.

  15. One of the few old school players that doesn’t try to act like he hated his opponents with ALL his guts. At the end of the day it’s just a game.

  16. Brady said that he thinks people being friends with each other is bad for competition. I disagree. I think it’s more of your mentality.

In a game against a friend with nothing to gain from winning I’m still competitive. When you put money in the mix I’m more competitive. And it doesn’t matter if it’s against a friend or not.

  17. If he wants archeological evidence that refutes the bible, I would start with dinosaurs and the millions of years of assorted fossils from even before dinosaurs. Pretty sure that destroys the bible. Dinosaurs destroyed the bible for me when I was around 8 or 9. 😂

  18. I'm with Jerry on this one. Brady and several other greats have said the same thing. No friendly nothing when we are competing against each other every Sunday. We can chop it up…after football.🇺🇸🫡
