Been watching hockey for a long time. Still don’t know what needs to be done to get this team who play this style which is supposedly unique in the NHL to the finals. But you need a goalie that is better. But Vegas won last year with an average goalie and a big deep physical team.

Rangers fan here came to say well played, I absolutely knew up 3 games to none that there were going to be some tense moments ahead. To be real, I absolutely thought this was going to game 7 where all bets are off. Great team you had this year, I hope you stay competitive for next season.
Not gonna lie, when Martinook robbed Lindgren of that goal, and then Andersen stopped Panarin on a breakaway, I thought the game was over and heading to NY. The Canes owned the boards for 5 periods.
You guys blame Andersen, but lets call a spade a spade. 5 times you had quality scoring chances to put the Rangers away, 3 times they hit iron, one time Aho blew it all alone and missed the net entirely, and once Igor made a quality save.
Won the Presidents trophy, swept the first round, and led the league in 3rd perion comeback victories.
You have no grounds to gripe about penalties. That game 4 Penalty that resulted in the Canes game winning goal was just as weak as the crosscheck call against Zbad. You also got away with a delay of game penalty minutes prior to the crosscheck call.

Hi Zach, great analysis again. Heartbreaking loss for the Canes I’m sure but the team did not give up. I really think they ran out of gas after playing so many do or die games. Rangers just turned a switch and swarmed the Canes in the 3rd. Almost like a shark smelling blood after the 2nd goal given up. Canes did a great job of blocking early on but failed to do so in the end. Also your top guys simply did not capitalize on opportunities and Rangers executed on theirs. It was a tense battle throughout and margins were slim for sure. I hope you guys can keep the core and be back stronger next year.

This Canes squad simply would not go away – not in the regular season finishing only 3pts behind and certainly not in this series.
Great team, organization, and fanbase. I hope ownership sees it the same way and supports upper mgmt and coaching staff this offseason.
Rangers fan here – I feel for you guys. That had to hurt. I was positive that that game was over and nearly certain the Canes would complete the reverse sweep. But in playoff hockey, in-game momentum can shift in a heartbeat, and psychology plays a crucial role. The goal to make it 3-2 was where the shift happened – that was a critical error. It gave the Rangers the lifeline they needed to get going. With a better goaltender, that series is probably yours.
