When Jim Montgomery has a talented team they always dominate.
Going back to Dallas and Boston, even in the year Montgomery was an assistant with the Blues in 2022 they finished with 110 pts.

We're expecting Snuggy to be in the top line because Kyrou and Holloway had amazing chemistry and lightning speed. Kyrou and Thomas play better on different lines, so there will likely be experimentation, but ultimately hoping to see Snuggy with Thomas and Buch
2 seconds from round 2. I think they'll get better from Montgomery but the division is competitive. 4th in the Central, 1st wild card with 95-100 points.

Zharenko can probably be the 3rd string Goalie. I also think Texier could play as a 3rd liner. I am hoping Texier gets a shot at making the 3rd line.
Top line is buch Thomas snuggy then the second line is Holloway schen kyrou the second line was the best in the nhl last year
Playoff team no question. Only question at all is how far they go. I think they can compete for a CF berth, but obviously that's quite preliminary. I'm also concerned that we have guys that fit too well in their planned slots, and whether we have enough that can play up when asked in case of injury.
Whether he maintains the numbers of last year or not, Fowler in a huge net positive. Watching him shine on a lame Ducks team was frustrating. Glad to see him with the Blues even though the Ducks are improving.
I agree if anyone can lead them back to the playoffs it’s Montgomery

That game 7 loss against Winnipeg was crushing, but I am very optimistic about the team this year.

This team is absolutely making the playoffs and then some. If Holloway was healthy in the playoffs who knows how far this team would’ve made it last season

I don't expect Lucic to be on the team, but you never know. I think this was Monty and Jullian doing him a solid to get some eyes on him in preseason.
I think the hope is that Snuggy gets a spot on Thomas’ line and that Holloway/Kyrou keep up their chemistry with Schenn or whoever is between them. With his age and style, the Blues would probably love to be able to move Schenn to the wing or drop him to 3C, but a lot of things would have to go right to get there.
For the D, honestly I’m fine if Fowler doesn’t keep up the pt total from last year, as long as he keeps up his chemistry with Parayko. Part of the reason some fans got frustrated with him is that the team couldn’t find the right LD for him from 2020 until they got C4.
For goalies, we might not have a proven 3rd string, but Springfield seemed pretty happy with Ellis and Zherenko. As long as only one of Binner/Hof were out, I’d be fine bringing up a T-bird, probably Ellis, for super light duty.

I really want to see Pastrnak traded to St Louis to reunite him with Montgomery and to give Thomas a great winger to play with. Boston really needs to rebuild, and St Louis would be a great spot for Pastrnak. St Louis has some recent draft picks who would do an excellent job helping Boston sell their fans on a quick rebuild, and not a tear it down and suck for half a decade rebuild.

Enthused about this year. The depth is much better and having the premier coach behind the bench gives them a few more wins this year. Probably a 3 or 4 finish but getting into the playoffs is the goal. I loved how they took the Jets to the brink. A great indicator of this year, i hope.
I think Fowler will continue like he did last year–just think he was on a bad team for many years. His skating and smarts make him a very good defenseman.
