Lie is very important (they called it the "loft"). It depends on how close or far you play the puck from your body so that you have more of your blade touching the ice while you're handling the puck. This translates to a better shot and more control over the puck. Depending on your playstyle, you also want to consider if you tend to play with the puck in your feet (defensemen?) or if play the puck far out in front of you (forwards?). If you play in your feet, you want a higher lie. If you play with the puck far in front of you, you want a lower lie. Easy way to test the lie you need is to fully tape your blade like Toews stick and play a game. After the game or practice, look at the underside of the blade to see where the tape is worn out. If you're wearing out the toe area, your lie might be too low. If your wearing out the heel of your tape on the blade, your lie might be too high. If your wearing out the tape in the middle or evenly from heel to toe under your blade, you got the right lie. The higher the lie (5-7) would look more like an "L" while a lower lie (4-5) would have less angle, looking closer to a "l".
That goal where he skates thru Buffalo and scores one handed is right out of a video game. Defenders have a very hard time getting the puck away from him along the boards.
Hes totally wrong about sids stick curve i used a straighter stick like Gilmore and it was easier to stick handle with but hard to take a slap shot with but you can flick a puck up with a straight curve blade. Weeks stick to knowing stuff about goalies gear ok.
Near the end of the video, Either that guy in the corner was confident in his co analyst keeping the puck inside the net or he’s just flat out stupid & asking to eat a pick into his face 😂
crosby wouldve been WAY better if it werent for his superstitions. as he got older equipment evolved to make you a better player, as it always has in hockey. he refused to get rid of his heavy gloves, huge unnecessary shoulder pads, no flex, no curve blade. If he didnt have the superstitions he couldve put up mcdavid numbers.
They could save for most of the words said by just setting camera closely to the Sid's blade. People who know what to look for would see all they needed. But they didn't. Blah-blah-blah-blah instead.

Tape thing is hilarious. It don't matter, Ov & Kaner use white off the dome piece
Please do Draisatl the man plays with a canoe paddle
Kevin Weekes is an EXPERT on skin care from all those “red light sunburns” 😂
Imagine weeksy missed the net and nailed luftman in the face
looool the first guy says "markably different" (not a word) and then Weekes immediately corrects him as says "markedly different" (actually a word)
Like kevin weeks knows anything about 99
Good insight from Kevin Weeks.
The curve that Toews is working with helps get the elevation, is what she said.
These guys know nada
How did anyone make a video of this!!
HOLY SHIT YOU CAN GO UP AND DOWN THE STICK NO WAY
What a stupid placement to have his cohost stand in the corner like that…
Blah blah, get pucks to the net, blah blah, stick curve, blah blah,,he’s a lefty, blah. good lord…
KEVIN, Teach the reporter how to hold a stick and get away from in front of your demo shots.

So nobody talking about Weeke's magical abilitiy with the puck starting at 1:51
"okay now you go stand in the corner over there, the worst possible spot to be given what I'm about to demonstrate"
These guys are talking thru their asses. You have a goalie explaining the mechanics behind a skater's stick. Desperate for a story or what? Shut TFU.
I was waiting for Weekes to rifle one off the guy’s beak.
I want this set for my basement.
foam pucks.

This is an awesome video
As someone who’s about to play hockey for the first time, this was incredibly insightful and useful information.
Near the end of the video, Either that guy in the corner was confident in his co analyst keeping the puck inside the net or he’s just flat out stupid & asking to eat a pick into his face 😂
