Jacob Trouba hit on Andrei Svechnikov – not even a penalty
There was no call on this Jacob Trouba hit to Andrei Svechnikov, and I think that’s absolutely the right decision. Trouba does some questionable things, but this isn’t one of them.
There’s so many people who just hate Trouba because he’s the biggest hitter in the league right now. Since hitting has all but disappeared in the NHL, idiotic fans see every hit that causes an injury as dirty but it’s not true. Trouba has played within the rules his entire Rangers career.
The only reason it looks as bad as it does is because Svechnikov tried to get out of the way sending him flying. This is probably the better outcome because as brutal as Trouba’s hits are he would’ve gotten crushed if he fully took it
the way i see it, trouba understands that there is a line between a clean hit and a dirty hit, and he gets as close to that line as possible without it being a dirty hit XD
