  1. Trouba sucks he’s the weakest link.. how he’s our captain is astonishing.. he’s overhyped and overpaid.

  2. Agree about John Tavares but from the outside I don't know who could fit in his 11 million dollar contract. And although he's still productive he'll be 34 in September.

  3. No way Tavares waives his nmc. I feel like that might be the best approach but Marner is going to want a raise and I just don't think he's worth his contract either.

  4. idk where the leafs go from here. The problem with the leafs is they are poorly managed from top to bottom. Shanahan fired Dubas aparently a year late. Dubas signing "the core 4" and gave them the sun and the moon. He should have made Marner sit for the season as well as Nylander. Idk why Dubas caved at the last possible minute. After the 3 – 1 series collapse, Dubas wanted to move on from the core 4, Shanhan didn't and he fired Dubas. IDK which game in the playoffs versus the Bruins did Keefe's message finally got through to the players but it was too little too late. If it were me, it would be scorched earth.

  5. Trading JT would be very tough. Leafs would have to retain 50%, and maybe even add a sweetener to get a team to bite on a rapidly aging 34 year old centre who wears a C, but has zero leadership qualities. To be fair, JT has served the Leafs well for the most part. A shame that his game has nosedived so quickly. He's a pro, let him play out his last year with some dignity, then decide what to do after that.

  6. Bottom line for me is the fact that Marner is too soft and afraid to get hit which ends in quickly, blindly getting rid of the puck to avoid getting hit and that results in dangerous turnovers.

He's not moved the dial in playoffs over multiple playoffs. He's not only invisible during playoffs, he's an outright liability!

In my opinion Marner has had many opportunities to get to the next level and is instead lethargic.
No way will Tavares agree to wave, he's going to stay. Who knows what effect Berube will have with Tavares, perhaps he'll embrace a shut down specialists on the fourth line.

When Treliving moulds the team through trades and free agency, and Berube pushes the entire team up a few notches, they'll be a much more solid, effective and dangerous contender!!

I'm optimistic and for the first time in decades, I feel like whatever changes are made, this team will be true contenders. Marner will be traded and Travarez will remain a Leaf with a new role where he's 95% defensive and 5% offensive threat. He is THE perfect fit for that role.

    Jack ~'()'~

  7. The entire D of NYR struggled… We need a top line right wing as well. There's a prob with a few contracts: Kappo, Goodrow and Trouba will be looked at to get moved. 🥂

  8. As usual TML are at the mercy of NMC and NTC with bad contracts and to top all that off , other players do not like to come to the TML and pay the highest tax in NHL with huge microscope watching their every move!
TML are doomed to lose for eternity!

  9. first its all speculation, but i will agree to get rid of tavares, he was never worth the 11 million a year. Marner however is worth it. Stop blaming marner for leafs loss . Your nuts If you dont think that every team has figured out how to shut the core 4 down during the playoffs.

  10. Who in there right mind would take Tavares? The only ones I can think of is Utah and the Leafs would have to retain half of the salary and throw in a high draft pick. And I doubt they would do it.

  11. How many times are the Rangers going to be able to continue to buy out these over paid defenseman? (Shattenkirk, Yandle, Girardi, Stahl, now Trouba?)

  12. I'd say no way Trouba can be traded, and no way they can risk the consequences of buying out your captain.

  13. The Leafs wanted and needed to get Tavares, now they're stuck with his $11 million contract. That's what happens at the end of these long term contracts. First of all, he'll never waive his NMC, and second of all nobody's touching that contract unless Toronto eats half of it. To pay $5.5 million to Tavares to not play does not make sense.

  14. The original thoughts on Tavarez was that he could provide an unstoppable 2nd center man who could avoid the other teams checking line. Made sense at he the time.

  15. Leafs need to package Tavares and Reilly eating 1/2 of Tavares contract.
Could sleepy Lou be interested and include a high pick.
    We will see.

  16. I say try to move JT and Marner. Marker is gonna want more money on his next contract and he isn't worth the one he has now. Good regular season player, but Leafs need playoff guys. Marner just isn't one

  17. Every NHL franchise is subject to different rules and tax codes both at the national and state/provincial levels. Alaska, Florida, Nevada, New Hampshire, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, and Wyoming are the only states that do not levy a state income tax. When taking a look at the NHL teams that fall into this category and you look at the track record of success over the last eight seasons, the numbers are quite telling.

Since 2016, only one Stanley Cup Final featured no team that enjoyed no state/provincial income tax levies. That year, the St. Louis Blues defeated the Boston Bruins to win their first-ever Cup. But in all other cases, there was at least on NHL team in the Cup Final that enjoyed this benefit. The teams that enjoy the benefit are in CAPS. These teams have an unfair advantage over the remaining teams. Canadian teams are further disadvantaged by the heavier taxation in Canada vs. the USA. This is akin to giving each of these "tax free" teams a bunch of extra power plays.

  18. Rangers fans are a bunch of winers always crying trying to buy a cup. Truba is great not many defenceman play like him anymore physically.

  19. He should’ve concentrated more on his defensive responsibilities than making commercials with his mom….

  20. Rangers fan checking in here. Distraught after the loss. Felt the team had the DVD moments and vibe of a cup winning team. Rangers 5v5 play was an issue all season outside of the second line. Kakko is not the answer at RW1. Neither was Blake Wheleler. They failed to address it at the deadline with adding Roslovic for that top RW. Panthers were incredible and also shut down their PP which was the difference in this series.

With that being said, the Rangers are not far off and are a well executed hockey trade/few tweaks away from the right mix. They ironically remind me of the panthers in 2022 following their ECF loss.

Don’t think they’ll buy out trouba but could be open to moving him in a trade
With an asset like Kakko or Chityl.

My prediction is that Kakko and Chityl are both moved for pick/young controlled D-Man to fortify their D. They’ll resign Lindgren, bridge Schneider. Call up Othman. Try to add a legit RW (Debrusk/marchessault/Mantha) and a middle six C (Stephenson).

  21. Great Video, as usual, Mike. I said that Jacob Trouba is gone as A Ranger, even if they were to have won The Stanley Cup. I see The Chicago Blackhawks acquiring him, for A Bunch Of Prospects/Taylor Raddysh & the like

  22. L.A. is a good place for Jonny T with them young center over there he can help them out alot plus all that sun never hurts
