In the 2020 playoffs, Stamkos played just one game. Tampa still won the Cup. If Draisaitl cannot play, Edmonton is still a formidable team.

Didn’t have his nipple patches on.

Gotta prepare as if he’s 100% and in the lineup, and every chance you can plant a stick in his back you take it. You know he’s going to be sticking guys all series long, the guy is a legit piece of shit. Bury him over and over again.

  4. Don’t wish any long-term pain for Draisaitl but it would be great if he decided he had to take the next week or two off.

And if he doesn’t, the team should absolutely target him physically. Some fans might not like it and say its “poor sportsmanship” but literally every team does this (reason why coaches always hide injuries in the playoffs)

  5. I saw oilers fans celebrating Demko injury… Would it be wrong for us to celebrate this? Honest question.

Myers (?) either cracked his rib or displaced with that elbow yesterday. He’ll be back for the next game but it’ll hurt like a bitch to play with that

Doesn’t mean much unless they confirm he’s out tbh. Players skip practice all the time in playoffs and then play.

But it definitely confirms he’s dealing with something and it’s not equipment issue or cramps like their coach said (which none of the insiders or fans believed anyway)

He’s at home ordering Skip The Dishes in his sweater jersey

You never want to see any player so hurt they can’t play. But we don’t have Demko and I’ll be happy to take any extra help we can beating this very good team.

That being said players miss practice all the time. I think it would need to be something very, very major to prevent him from playing.

The Oilers without Draisaitl is a huge loss, the Canucks better take advantage if he sits for any length of time.

  11. tekmosis

Someone get him a banana and Pepsi for these cramps

  12. DisastrousCopy7361

He got banged up in game 1 or 2 vs LAK…wonder if its that

I have zero sympathy after what Hyman did to Hughes yesterday. He was 100% trying to injure him.

  14. 2BFrank69

His backs fucked. Even if he plays he will be a step slower

  15. Rahtgooves

Damn nothing worse than a nagging equipment issue in the playoffs

There was a sequence last night where there was a loose puck, 50/50 type of play for Draisaitl & Zadorov.

Basically watched Draisaitl bail out and just let Zadorov have the puck because he was on one leg.

  17. I think he’ll still play tomorrow but he might struggle again if we are physical. If he doesn’t play that would be a huge loss for the oilers.

I wish Draisaitl a full recovery this summer.

  19. Even if he plays tomorrow, you bet your ass our big boys will be targeting him. He won’t last the series.

  20. I feel for him if it’s a back injury. I’ve been there before where it goes in the game, it’s a bit tight, but you can play through it. Then about 3 hours post game it just locks up and the next day you can barely move without it spasming. Hope he’s alright long term, but also hope Zadorov crushes him with a clean hit in the back. They would 100% do the same thing to Hughes, Drai is an underrated dirty player

  21. NotoriousBITree

They need to play an extremely physical and punishing game against Draisaitl to try and take him out of the series (either completely or minimizing his effectiveness). They’ve been getting by without Demko but it’s still an enormous loss. They need to take any opportunities they can get within the rules to equalize things.

  22. nelsonmuntzz

    That’s a hell of a cramp… I’m sure he’ll play though.

  23. Forgotmymind

All the best to Draisaitl, if we’re able to beat them this series, I’d rather they be at full health.

  24. poolside123

🫢 I’m saying nothing; just faintly smiling.

  25. I don’t intend to celebrate the possibility of a player getting injured. That said, I will acknowledge that I feel some relief or positivity at the possibility of Draisaitl not playing.

It’s not that I want to see him get hurt. But I have watched him in the playoffs these past years, and he’s more than willing to play dirty and attempt to injure others.

Not happy to see that the human might be hurt, but I am relieved that there may be less of a chance that our guys get injured.

Cue the excuses from Oilers fans and all sports media why they lost.
