Changing the Coach will NOT improve the Leafs. The coach wasnt the problem. The ROSTER, as comprised today, has always been the problem. It's hilarious that Shanny gets away with this dog and pony show every year…last year it was the GM who got canned, this year, the Coach gets the boot…whats it gonna be next year….the Stick boy? Fire the Video guy.. Popcorn guy got let go?. .but dont dare trade any of the Core Four to free up Cap space to get better D or G. That couldnt possibly work. LOL. What a complete joke.

Unless the Buds are willing to make more changes to the team lineup,it won’t matter who is coaching,the same results will occur.This team as it is comprised would get rag dolled by the Panthers in the playoffs.
In my opinion the only coach that fit the roster was back in 2021-22 when Trotz was available. This would have been after losing a qualifying round (missed playoff) and blowing a lead to MTL and losing 1st round. Kyle Dufus didn’t make that happen and we squandered the best years of our talent. MTL fired a coach that took them to a cup final. Toronto would already have a bronze statue made of that man with how little success we have had for 30+ years. It’s sad how cologne and hair gel ruined our chances of a dynasty. 4 seasons too long and now these boys have to learn a new system and be the best at it when they getting closer to their 30s. At least I can watch them play again I stopped watching and blocked it away because it’s too painful and sad

The Maple Leafs are to soft in the playoff’s they are build for a hockey season not for playoffs. You need guys like the burins have or Florida have and the Rangers.

Babcock probably gets fired but i dont think he would hire Keefe. I think he makes some moves to make the leafs look like the early 2000s devils. Shanahan would have lost the power struggle and hired Mark Hunter as the GM. Lou would be promoted to the President of Hockey Ops. Bennett, Hanifin or Chychrun moves happen. Boeser or Konecy moves as well. Leafs probably have a different payroll structure and more depth as a result of that.

I have the upmost respect for Sheldon! He took responsibility in the exit interviews and today his video of gratitude today is everything in my opinion! I wish him well and have no doubt he will find success.

JT and Mitch's contracts are up. Make some moves with players whos contracts are up. I think if the leafs lean out the roster and add the depth they need they could go to the cup finals next season. Sens did a similar things in 2006. It takes one summer for the team to reboot and start working well together. I wish you well.

At this point its not about coaching. The players have to take thier heads out of thier arses.
A coach who had some of the best talent in the league yet he could not get them the puck, he was always out coached and that dump and chase crap that started from the Babcock days , does not work if that's al you got particularly in the playoffs. Another major problem is Reilly a third pair on even the shittier teams. He is soft , a horrible passer , always caught deep and never back there to play D. No lead was ever safe with this idiot, Mathews could score 4 goals and we still lose. No cup til Tavares is gone , he can't skate, hit , pass or deke and GD selfish af.
Tavares, Reilly, Brodie, Gio, Kampf, Gregor, Liljgren better be gone come next season.
It's tough to win with your top 3 players more concerned about their instagram story than winning a cup.
