Starting to wonder if Holtz is “that” player that we think has high potential and high trade value, but 31 other teams and fan bases go “lol no.”

Well, hope the kid has even more of a chip on his shoulder

Its such a shame bc Holtzy really needs to step it up rn and prove the haters wrong.

I always liked Zetterlund’s shot, wish we kept him and sent Holtz for Timo.

Every major national team has guys who can score. If you’re not an elite offensive player, you need to be able to contribute in other areas to be valuable.

This sub got obsessed with the idea that Ruff had some kind of vendetta against Holtz, but it’s obvious that he’s not the only person who needs to see more from him without the puck on his stick.

Shame. Holtzy could’ve used this chance to really prove himself 🙁

why are people so obsessed with this kid? He has a good snipe, wow. That’s it. Move on

Can we put this to bed now? The guy sucks at defense. I’ve been saying it all year. That is the beginning and end of this discussion.

The good news is that Defense is the one thing that can be learned. Every data point this kid has received is to pick it up in the D zone. I genuinely hope that he takes those messages seriously and gets to work.

Wow Lindy ruff must be coaching Sweden too! /s

Holtz is a sniper but his conditioning sucks .but being a sniper means nothing if you don’t get yourself open or work to make plays .

Good for Zetty but oof for Holtz. I still don’t get how polarizing this kid is, but it’s also kinda nuts we drafted him higher than Mercer in the same year

This is turning out to be a bad pick. Either he succeed here or he ends up back in Europe.

The moment I pulled a massive Holtz rookie card, I knew he wasn’t going to pan out. My luck is so bad I can actually ruin a player’s potential. I’m so sorry guys.

Part of me wishes they didn’t trade Zetterlund. The other part sees he is on the first line over there (admittedly on a very bad sharks team that parted out all their players) and is happy he gets that this early in his career.

His career will almost certainly have a higher trajectory for it. Ditto ~~Sharan~~Santagovich. He is not a Bratt and so I’m glad he didn’t get coal.

The problem with Alex is that he can’t defend, he sucks at puck battles, his puck carrying is mediocre and lots of time when he does have the puck he seems too slow to make decisions on what to do with it or how to develop a play in general, he also doesn’t seem to have a compete in him, like it’s easy to play against him and take the puck away, still lots of work to do if he wants to be a top 6 forward in this league
