Travis Green? Really? The Senators couldn’t get Sheldon Keefe? Or Darcy Tucker and Tie Domi? Wow, another unproven coach, with a loosing record. Well free agency is looming, might start looking for a new team to cheer for.

For me, it spits in the “best in class” line.
Nothing about this is best in anything. Get ready for some more dump and chase oh and no free agents will want to sign here.

Who gives a flying fuck what Green's deal is? There is no salary cap so his deal is irrelevant to everyone except for Andlauer's wallet. Guys get fired before extensions start and some teams are paying 3 coaches salaries at once. Absolutely pathetic how addicted people are to complaining.

People pointed to Tochet's losing record when he was hired by the Canucks and here he is 1 year later a Jack Adams nominee.

As for Staois… he got a 3rd round pick for Senko and hired a very mediocre coach. Not a good start

off season. If he doesn’t make significant moves, then it will be time to write him off honestly. Andlauer is a business man and he has to know that the status quo will be bad for business, bad for revenue, bad for the brand. They need to change the optics around this club and fast or Andlauer will have made the overpayment of the century (along with all his investors). Best in class needs to start to make big boy
Moves, so far it’s all been small stuff except for the hiring of Dave Poulin. Impress us with a trade involving Chychrun and a buyout of Korpisalo.
To me it seems like a desperation hire – none of the other coaches wanted to be here….
I'll reserve my final judgment until I see at least 20 games, but initial reaction – this is a weak move by management.
I'm hoping for the best, but I'm fully expecting to be disappointed.

The term does hurt if the reason we went for Green because we couldn't afford a better coach then how can we afford to pay 2 coaches salaries for 2 years if things go wrong for Green we will get another bargain bin coach before Green's 4 year deal is up. Well, nothing can be done now. I still think the time is coming whereby we won't be able to differentiate sports in Canada and politics. Especially with so many good American hockey players that are and will continue to refuse to play in Canada. The inflation, taxes, silly Covid response. This is all Trudeau and the Liberals and coaches and players aren't stupid and Canada is the place of last resort
If you think Ottawa is an attractive destination for free agents, coaches and players alike, then you haven't been paying attention. Ottawa's reputation still needs a lot of work to make Ottawa a worthwhile option.

I was excited about the new ownership and a fresh start. I was looking forward to a new coach and a new GM. And what did we get? Staois, a first time GM with ZERO previous NHL GM experience and a friend of the owner?!?? And now we get Green, a terrible player, a worse head coach, and a friend of the GM. The more things change in Ottawa, the more they remain the same. Terrible GM hire by a clueless owner and a worse head coach hire by a clueless GM.. This is the straw Ottawa, been here since the start but I cant handle this dumpster fire year in and year out. Nothing will change, Dorion ruined this team for years to come the way he constructed it and the contracts he handed out and the new ownership just added a few more years onto it. Good luck Sens fans, you are gonna need it. Anyone of the other guys i would have been ok with, but I have hated green for years and will not suffer this. Way to go Andlaurier, youre a clown!
I’m fine with this move, Berube would have been preferred but the rest of the candidates were crap (there’s a reason they had all been fired recently). Just get the roster fixed and they’ll have success

This just screams no playoffs for the sens anytime soon, Andlauer is a horrible owner worse then Mylnek, first off Travis Greene good lord the dumpster fire is burning bright, second why did Andlauer accept the first round pick and the 21 game suspension so easily, Mylnek would have had lawsuits flying and would have made the Nhl's life miserable, ffs, but ya no way this team under Greene will improve this group, ships sinking get out while you can
